A crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

AFTER EARTH is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and the script was written by Gary Whitta and M. Night Shyamalan. The film stars Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Isabelle Fuhrman, and Zoë Kravitz. It hits theaters June 7, 2013

I can sense your level of excitement for this film, nailbiter. Referencing "Wild Wild West" as the movie we should all remember Will Smith from. I can see this movie headed in that direction as well. John Carter is a better movie than this.

I sense a big letdown for this film. It wreaks boredom to me but i hope i'm wrong though. Or Maybe not.

this movie is going to be full of stupid extremely unrealistic action scenes. From that one "lion" pounce alone would have more than likely crushed his bones ....yet he acts like it was just a domesticated house cat attacking him. the cgi looks terrible

sigh. take it easy now, fellas... there's plenty of room on the unjustified-pre-release-hater bandwagon for all of you!

i'm sure this movie will tank, because apparently everyone's already got their "i totally hated shyamalan before it was even cool to hate shyamalan" sunglasses on. but this movie looks cool to me, and the cgi isn't THAT bad.

and honestly i feel bad for you moviegoers these days... it's like if a movie isn't perfect in every way, it completely blows. you miss out on a lot of movie fun when you can't accept a cool story because of a little stiff acting or wonky cgi. whatever... i'll enjoy it, so at least they'll get MY eight bucks.

i don't care though. i'm watching the hell outta that crapfest any way i can. mermaids vs. crab-people? sign me the hell up for that but PRONTO.

As much as I'm looking forward to this film, even I have to admit that that scene was NOT as action-packed as it could've been. M. Night managed to make a scene with a dude trapped in a giant bird nest with baby giant birds and giant wild cats NOT thrilling.
