Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With 'Prometheus', he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race

20th Century Fox has now officially stated that Prometheus is Rated R! Collider managed to confirm it with them after the ticket stub story came out this morning.

Steve here. 20th Century Fox has confirmed Prometheus will be rated R for “sci-fi violence including some intense images, and brief language.”

What do you guys think of this news? Personally, it wouldn't matter really, but there are more things a movie can accomplish with an 'R' rating, and I know that Scott's latest film will be great no matter what. Are you excited for this? People generally don't seem to know what this movie is, and with crap sifi films being made, like battle ship and and invisible aliens meet ghost busters, people think this is just going to be anther one of those,, probably have no idea that its somewhat linked to the film Alien
