Talking to Collider, Ridley Scott has offered up a description of a full scene from his upcoming Blade Runner sequel. While he doesn't go into too much detail, the director has offered fans an idea of what to expect from the film when it comes to its visual style. Known for creating some truly breathtaking images up on the big screen, it comes as no surprise that Scott is already giving the look of the sequel a great deal of thought. Check out the video below and sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

"There’ll be a vast farmland where there are no hedges or anything in sight, and it’s flat like the plains of—where’s the Great Plains in America? Kansas, where you can see for miles. And it’s dirt, but it’s being raked. On the horizon is a combine harvester which is futuristic with klieg lights, ‘cause it’s dawn. The harvester is as big as six houses. In the foreground is a small white clapboard hut with a porch as if it was from Grapes of Wrath. From the right comes a car, coming in about six feet off the ground being chased by a dog. And that’s the end of it, I’m not gonna tell you anything else."

He actually sounds like he's describing planned scene from the first movie, very similar to some unused storyboards I've seen.

@Dickel Eh, I sill stick to my fanboy idea that Matt Bomer would depict Gambit flawlessly. He has the look most definitely and his skills at acting are vastly incredible!

Yeah, I immediately thought the same thing.

It'd be really cool to see a lot of the elements they had planned for Blade Runner, but were unable to include, make it into this film.

There was a scene in the original script for Blade Runner where Deckard walks into a place out in the middle of nowhere and shoots a man, then removes mechanical parts from it's mouth revealing it's a replicant. Syd Mead did storyboards for it I think. It was on the extra features for the director's cut DVD. Maybe Mr. Scott will revisit some of these unused ideas.

INSTANTJUSTICE is 100% correct - this is explained in great detail in the Dangerous Days doco that came with the Final Cut Blu (and I assume the DVD).

But yeah, this is the scene, word for word. Accept right afterwards, Deckard gets out of the car, then kills a replicant in the farmhouse.

Seem to remember they never did it for budgetary reasons, and because it would be hard to invest the audience in the rest of the film's world after spending the first five or so minutes introducing a landscape that was so radically different.

I guess maybe him and Fancher have dusted off unused material from the original screenplay, and are implementing now that money/technology is available.
