Earlier today, Ridley Scott revealed that the Prometheus sequel will be titled Alien: Paradise Lost. That came as a major surprise, especially as Neill Blomkamp is supposed to be working on the fifth instalment of the franchise. So, why Alien: Paradise Lost? "Well, because we're heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented," the filmmaker told HeyUGuys earlier tonight. "We'll go back into the back door of the very first Alien that I did thirty years ago." It sound like the movie will do what Prometheus didn't and actually start linking up to the events of that sci-fi classic then, but what do you guys hope we see? Well, because we're heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented


I didn't like Prometheus or find the Engineers/black goo interesting enough to want to know more about them.

Like most of Lindelof's work, the script raises a lot of questions it doesn't answer, has some over-the-top events that don't seem reasonable, and the questions that ARE answered aren't as interesting as the original questions were.

Some of the revelations ("father") were sort of unnecessary and less important than the writers seemed to realize. Plus a lot of the character behavior was ridiculous and unrealistic to that of an actual human being.

I hope he makes the new movie a lot better than the last.

Prometheus has one of the dumbest endings ever - They get to the planet, realize that for some reason, our creators hate us, and want us dead. The crew manages to stop the awoken engineer by crashing their ship into his and sacrificing themselves. Presumably, the engineer was on its way to alert the rest of its species that we humans exist, so that they can come and kill us.

So what does the main character do in the end?

She sets a course straight for the engineers home planet just to satisfy her own curiosity. This will almost certainly alert the other engineers of our existence.

If you like "alien"

I HIGHLY recommend a documentary called "jaddorowsky's DUNE" - its a fascinating doc in of itself, but it also explains how GIGER got in the film/production design business.

Prometheus is one of my all time favs. As most everyone else says though, ending was a wtf moment. I'm interested to see what happens now though. I'd guess that the studio got involved with the titling and linked film aspect. More than likely to help bolster more mainstream hype for the new aliens movie

Yeah I guess Alien 3 -Assembly Cut- is better any other alien movie except maybe the first one. Glad we have reached an agreement.
