Ridley Scott Gives Up Some Interesting Plot Details For The Alien Prequel

According to IGN, For the first time, director Sir Ridley Scott has gone into a little bit of detail for his upcoming prequel to Alien.

Talking to Empire at a premiere, he was asked if the movie would tell the story of how the extra-terrestrial critters found their way to LV-426 -- the infested planet that John Hurt, Sigourney Weaver and Co. discovered at the beginning of Alien.

Apparently not: "It's a brand new box of tricks," said Scott. "We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago."

He went on: "It's very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place 30-years prior."

How this fits into Alien lore we're not sure, but Scott is certainly excited by the project: "I never thought I'd look forward to a sequel. But a prequel is kind of interesting. I'm looking forward to doing that."

Thanks to IGN for the info.

I always wanted to be Sigourney Weaver in those movies, she's such a bad ass. I hope they get someone good to replace her in the new ones.

They got to get to this one quick before H.R. Giger dies if they want to keep with the look of the first movie.

@ antz1104

i don't think avp2 will have anything to do with this. and saying this happens after avp2 doesn't mean anything, scott just said, "if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place 30-years prior." that means that about 120 years have passed since avp2. lol

but realistically, its crazy to think that humans will be as far advanced as they are in the first alien movie by the end of the century, lol.

Avp and AvP2 were not made by Ridley Scott.. so he doesnt even have to follow them at all. He could wipe those movies with his ass and say they never existed. lol

@ nightshade

yep! i liked avp2, but i kind of like them being in their own world, with nothing to do with this or the new pred.
