Sigourney Weaver Wants To Bring Back Ripley For Another Alien Movie

She wants to reprise her role as Ellen Ripley, believe it or not! She also dances around a question about seeing her in the Avatar sequel(s).

Will she play Ripley again
I doubt it just because the way the industry is. While I can't speak for them, I think for Fox, once you're sixty, you're not going to be starring in an action movie. I think it's too bad that that's the case. I would have liked to do one last story where we go back to the planet, where Ripley's history is resolved. But I do feel like her story is unfinished.

I love the way the story has evolved, that every few years there's another voyage into that universe with another wonderful young director. And certainly I'm blessed with lots of different wonderful jobs, so I'm not sitting at home ruminating about all of that. If I was really caught up in it, I would find a logical story and try to get them behind it, but she may just be left circling earth.

I could definitely kick that alien's ass again. [Ripley]'s a smart hero, it's the way she thinks, but just looking at the way the business is...

Will she be back in the Avatar Sequels?
I don't think I'm at liberty to talk about that. Obviously it would be great if Grace could continue in some form or another. But I think we're not at a point where we can talk publicly about it.

I'd love to see Ripley comeback! I think it would be fascinating to see her use a futuristic hoveround to escape an alien. Just the thought of setting up a film of that type of magnitude in a old people's home is taking my breath away. Could you imagine all the possibilities? I sure can.

On a serious note, as much as I do love the character that is Ripley, I also have no interest in seeing an old woman swear at aliens. Call me old fashion but there is something off putting when an elderly person cusses as their teeth dangle from their gums.

yea I wish they ignored alien 3 and redid that. Such a poor way to end Ripley's human arc.

Resurrection wasn't terrible, but another Ripley clone? Maybe they should try alien 3.5... dying at the end of 3 could've been a dream?

"...once you're sixty, you're not going to be starring in an action movie."

but, look at Harrison Ford. after 60, he's played Indiana Jones again and starring as a gun-totting cowboy in Cowboys & Aliens.

well, regarding Ripley. i'm still sad that they made Alien3 and Alien: Resurrected. they REALLY ruined the whole epic myth created by the first two films, much more than the third Godfather ruined the first two ones.

the way i see it, maybe Fox should do a do-over and make another NUMBER THREE, a la Superman Returns (asking the audience to disregard Superman III and IV), and set it long after the end of AlienS, where Ripley's aged gracefully and RETIRED. then the Aliens, somehow come to earth and she'd get a callback to do some consulting in how to handle those nasties from outer space. that could work, as long as the STORY is coming from the gut and breathing the same air as the first two alien films.

I would love to, but now, after ALIEN4, Ripley´s clone is actually super Ripley, I don´t think she would age. :/

No thanks, Alien Ressurection was already a step too far, she should have stayed dead after Alien 3 along with the rest of the franchise

Sigourney, get over it you money hungry bitch, Ripleys story finished in Alien 3, I refuse to accept the atrocious Alien Resurection in continuity
