He is. This is a problem I had with the last movie and am sure to with this one..why does Spock not only NOT repress him emotions, but actually show MORE than the rest of the damn crew?

@RorMachine Rest of the crew? I don't think so. I think it's a good thing that he's showing a little bit of emotion in the movies because it will cause conflict.

And conflict in movies is interesting.

Admiral Marcus is probably her dad, she doesn't want to show that her dad assigned her on Starfleet's flagship starship - favoritism. Or she's investigating Kirk's insanity undercover . . . and gets undercover, hahahaha, that wasn't funny.

@scooby That's possible. Maybe she's going by her mother's maiden name or something. Or maybe she's working for Section 31!

It dismays me that Bones gets the shaft again for a female character. First Uhura takes his place on the poster and now he can't even sit up front with Kirk and Spock because Alice Eve is in the scene!

we all know she's Carol Marcus but i have two theories: 1) she got married in this universe but is now divorced. 2) Wallace is her mother's maiden name.

Captain Ireland earns five points for Gryffindor for namedropping Section 31.

And I lose ten points for referencing Harry Potter.

@Ror, in a way, you are incorrect. He doesn't show more emotional range than the rest of the damn crew. You're just too focused on him and that is why it appears that way. This version of Spock, while younger, is also growing in a different direction than Spock Prime of the original universe. In the first movie, Sarek pretty much gave him a pep talk near the end of the movie when Kirk proved that Spock was emotionally compromised that it was OK to accept emotions and that you shouldn't let it blind yourself from doing the right thing. Sarek himself felt anger, pain, and sadness over the loss of Vulcan, and his wife. Sure, he buried it under logic, but he still admitted it to his son. Hence why this Spock is still learning and adapting. Some of the diehards seem to forget that the original pilot for the TOS had Spock showing a wide range of emotions before they redesigned the show into the one we all know today. The Spock we see here (and in the first JJ Abrams Trek movie) is an amalgam of the original pilot Spock and the Spock we all know from the TOS and later. The more things change, the more some things stay the same.
