I was never a Star Trek fan, I was into Star Wars much more. I didn't think much of the Star Trek movie when it came out. So when I finally saw it I was AMAZED!!!

It is now in my TOP 5 Favorite Movies of all time!

I actually like this cast more than the original. Is that blasphemy? Karl Urban was pretty damn good as McCoy.

Damn everyone commenting here was always more into Star Wars lol ;P

I never got into Star Wars...always more into Trek stuff. Hopefully the sequel will surpass the first film!

Oh and here's to hoping they use the Talosians as the main villains for this film! Come on they said it'd be a classic villain from the TOS!!!!!

Black widow manages to get a Chris pine comment on anything remotely related to Chris pine. You can almost count on it like grif having you tube bookmarks to share with all of us. I think she likes Chris pine.

@Intruder- Yeah...I figure 'Wars' fans and 'Trek' fans can easily sift between both ;D

I don't blame most people for preferring Star Wars though...Trek at times...was a bit boring. I blame TNG series for that and damned Picard for being such a darn Diplomat lol.

The only reason why people prefer Wars over Trek is the ongoing story and the action. But thats what J.J. Abrams seemed to do and accomplished in Star Trek (2009).

Star Wars was best until Lucas ruined it with those last three "movies". Actually they're more like cartoons with live actors mixed in...kinda like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Way to murder your own child George. He pretty much rolled out the red carpet for Star Trek to come along and trump Star Wars. The last Star Trek movie makes the last 3 Star Wars movies look like dogshit. And that's not even saying Abrams Star Trek was THAT GOOD of a movie...it's just that the last Star Wars films were THAT BAD.

@superpooper - I thought the same as you until I realised Lucas has been hell bent on destroying Star Wars for the last 30ish years. Check out the Ewok movies. Or the Holiday Special. The guy gets off on defiling his own creations; the dirtier it is, the better he likes it. Those last three movies should have come as no surprise to anyone.

@TheBlackWidow - Hey, I'm kinda new here - you're really pretty ;)

Good news, looking forwards to it as I really enjoyed the first one.
What's with all the Star Wars mentions though, can't you have both or is it only one or the other?
For the record, I'm an old school Trek fan back in the days when it was Science Fiction before JJ rebooted it as Science Fantasy.

I thought the movie was done very well, although I was disappointed with several of the story elements. SW is okay, but I will always be a Trek fan.

@WeaponX - Quit spamming douce nugget. You are one of the many reasons this place will never become respectable.

@People that Matter
I was never much of a trek guy but the newest one I have watched twice so that is twice as more as most of the other trek films.

Nothing about that tweet suggests that the script is actually done, just that he's hearing good things. [frick], if Chris Nolan put up that "This version of Batman will be...interesting" some a s shole would post a story about how they're going to make Batman openly gay.

woodsy100 - It's not that Lucas is out to 'destroy' his creation, rather he's trying to squeeze ever [explitive]-ing penny out of it, like blood from a stone because the man hasn't had an original film idea in over 30 years!

LOCOLOBO@ I'm an older guy and an extreme
fan of the original STAR TREK (altho' no
TREKKER). But I prefer the newer KLINGONS
with the cabbage heads! LOL

Ya know at 6'6" and 300lbs. of muscle I'd
make a great KLINGON (But I've never donned
the costume...but I guess I should someday...
just not really a TREKKER!). I just love sci-fi
in all it's variations!

Star Trek never really impressed me. But for some reason when I saw the trailer for ST1 I knew it was going to be great. Fans can say what they want about the time stream change, this movie got people who hated ST to love it. The is always weird complicated time travel in ST anyways so it fit right in.
