STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE Never-Before-Seen Storyboards with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn

Artist Ed Natividad drew up storyboards for a battle sequence that was never filmed. It would've involved a Jedi-lead attack on Theed before the film's climactic battle.

Collider has been provided with these fantastic storyboards that have never seen the light of day by Star Wars Insider Magazine. Like any movie sequences are boarded but never make it to film, but with Star Wars there is something special about the entity. Even commonplace unused storyboards still have some value to the fans. This one is of particular interest not just because it depicts a battle sequence, but because it involves Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn.

During pre-production on the first Star Wars prequel, artists pitched battle concepts showing the Jedi-led attack on Theed before penetrating the hangar during the film’s climatic battle. While the sequence didn’t make the final film, Ed Natividad drew up some storyboards for the fight. The magazine will be publishing the full storyboard sequence in their celebratory issue, and we’ve got a few of the images to share with our readers. The sequence below features Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn in a Jedi vs. droid battle. - Collider's Adam Chitwood

I like the prequel films,I just got confused with the political side of it,the original didnt bring politics into it and it was all action and thats why I think the films stories in the originals are better, but damn they where confusing in the prequels

the politics subplot and the rise of palpatine is genius...when i was younger i was confused and i have never liked politics, but if you think about it and understand had that mofo did in order to become emperor, it is simply amazing...

This is why what those crappy Prequels should have delivered, proof that Lucas doesn't have a clue!

Let me reword this...I wish Lucas would give someone permission to continue the story of Star Wars. How's that?

I'd like to see a Matthew Vaughn directed Star Wars movie w/ Michael Fassbender as a Jedi or Sith.

That would have been a good Jedi braid (if we absolutely had to have one: I mean, Luke didn't grow a braid).

I like the prequels for what they are and i try not to make comparisons between the original and them after all he did say he was releasing 5,6,7 first because he thought they were the stronger films. They need to adapt the force unleashed with a gritty director now i would pay to see those movies starkiller is honestly how anakin should have been.
continuezero
continuezero - 1/27/2012, 9:58 PM
@NotThatGuy If Obi Wan saves em with Force Speed then he doesn't go through the same "losing a close person" tragedy as Anakin further building the mirror image roles Anakin and Obi Wan play from each other. Plus that would make too much sense.

If you like the prequels don't bother saying that you do, cause you will just get attacked by assholes. Nothing good will come of it. Just don't post anything. You're better off. Douches run the comments sections nowadays.
