We didn't get a new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the D23 Expo today, but Lucasfilm has revealed one of their incredible sizzle reels for the movie ahead of its release this December. It's packed full of new interviews with Rian Johnson and the cast, not to mention mind-blowing footage of Rey in action as she wields Luke Skywalker's lightsaber in moments destined to become iconic!

Beyond that, we don't learn anything new in terms of plot details but this video is likely to still give you chills. Lucasfilm certainly knows how to tease and with no new trailer today, next weekend - during the San Diego Comic-Con - seems most likely. We'll just have to wait and see on that front but it's fair to say that they've succeeded yet again in increasing the hype for this movie with this first BTS footage.

What do you guys think of this Star Wars: The Last Jedi video? Let us know your thoughts below.

Very cool, i'm just kinda worried about all these twists they're hinting at.
I mean, it would not be that bad, but between what Mark said what they've said in the panel, damn even in this footage...dunno they didn't seem that confident, but maybe it's just me.

@Doomsday8888 - I think from Marks perspective he expected (like most of us) that Luke would essentially be Yoda (the wise old jedi= the embodiment of good). But it clear this is a depressed Luke who has become disillusioned by the Jedi way and seeks something new.

@Doomsday8888 - it seems to be that with all the talk about it being fresh and unexpected, they've really taken the criticism that force awakens was a rehash to heart. I loved that movie, but I'm excited about the emphasis here on trying new things.

I loved that we didn't get a new trailer I think movies in general have to many recently

I know damn well someone better leak the Infinity War trailer.

@Invictor - I don't understand why they can't just release it online. I understand people have payed for tickets, but they are really paying for the whole experience, looking around the convention, being in the same room as actors, exclusives etc.
Eventually the entire trailer is revealed with people descriptions (and often people draw what they have seen). Plus, why not release it to a wider world (were the money is).

@StormXmen123 - The CGI might not be up to the standard of official trailers. And yes, they want the $250+ tickets to be worth it.

Verrrrrrry heavy with the practical effects, small detail but just gives me so much more confidence in a movie

"At the end of the footage, Thanos curls his fist, causes a planet behind them to explode, and then hurls the destroyed pieces down through the atmosphere at those he's fighting."
