Whatever it may be, I want it to deviate from the core films. This is the chance to make something different like how the Clone Wars spin-off movie was different, but instead cinema quality. It's a way to expand the universe in a fresh way.

I checked it. They are only called Rogue at Hoth. For Endor they are back to Red Squadron with Wedge as Red Leader (or Red One). However, in the EU this is explained as Wedge only temporarily reverting to Red call sign in honor of his fallen wing mates at Yavin.

Still sticking with my guess that Jones is playing Leia. Maybe it's a coincidence that they are drawing Leia to look just like Jones. Maybe not.

Nothing in the Star Wars universe would I like to see more than a Rogue Squadron movie. I really hope Rogue One refers to the leader of Rogue Squadron which is the position Felicity Jones's character has/wants and that her character is in fact Wedge Antilles's daughter.

@RetroFit Suicide Squad meets the Dirty Dozen? Is that a little like saying it's like coffee meets cappuccino? Aren't you supposed to name two somewhat dissimilar things when saying something is this meets that, not two things where one is based upon the other?

Of any characters in the Star Wars Universe that deserve a spin off, it's the X-Wing Squadron. I'm tired of just Jedi and Sith, let's give the pilots their due. I would love Wedge to reappear in an important role or at least an Antilles in there. The Rogue Squadron books would be a great place to draw inspiration from.

I'll guess she's playing a younger Mon Mothma. I want to see Mara Jade at some point in one of these films, but I don't think it'll be this one.

Rogue One is the call sign squadron leader and will be the daughter of Wedge.
