Earlier this year, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson indicated that we won't learn the identity of Supreme Leader Snoke in the movie as that's something which is being saved for Episode IX. We'll have to wait and see whether or not that's the case but a new book which serves as a companion of sorts to the sequel sheds some light on Snoke's powers and it definitely sounds like he's a Sith Lord.
Among his many abilities are telekineses (the ability to move objects with his mind), Force chokes (just like Darth Vader), and telepathy (meaning mind reading and possibly mind control too). It sounds like he might be even more powerful than The Emperor but these details leave us with more questions than answers in regards to who or what he could be and how exactly he came to be Kylo Ren's Master.
You have to believe that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will drop at least a few hints about Snoke's true identity and if nothing concrete is revealed, I guess we'll have two more years to speculate!
