PERCY JACKSON Actor Douglas Smith Joins TERMINATOR: GENESIS

Or have they now gone with just "Terminator"? Whatever Alan Taylor's movie winds up being called, it's gained a former cyclops in Douglas Smith, who played Tyson in Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters. More past the jump..

Deadline report that young Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters actor Douglas Smith will appear in Paramount's currently shooting Terminator reboot, although they state that his exact role is "under wraps". Given the obvious time-bending nature of the plot though, I'd say there's a good chance he'll be playing either a young John Connor (Jason Clarke) or Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney). Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is filming now in New Orleans, and the flick will also star Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as an older T-800.

Yeah..dunno about that. An aging android? All characters roughly the same age in the same timeline? John and his mother hanging out as adults? ...Jai Courtney?

We'll see.

You already lost me at Jai Courtney and Emilia Clark, they have 0 range and are completely miscast.

I'm really excited, too. I can get past ol' Arnie ageing since the fresh cast we have is fantastic. Jai Courtney? Awesome. Jason Clarke? Sweet. Emilia Clarke? Love her to bits. And Alan Taylor directing? Sounds great to me!

Yeah, it's a toss up. This elderly T-100 bit isn't sounding good.

Didn't somebody say that they would explain an ageing T-100 by saying that the flesh on the outside ages, but the technology doesn't?

You know what grinds a T-100's gears? Aging to the point where their gears grind. Huh? Huh?

Anyone?

No one? At all?

Fine!

interesting that paramount is making this when in 2009 they had tf2 released about a month after terminator 4.

Staypuffed, yeah that's their explanation but I guarantee you it wasn't actually something they'd have ever thought of until they wanted Arnie back in the movie and had to think up some kind of excuse. Whether or not you buy the outer skin aging thing or not, it's still just silly to have a geriatric cyborg running around. You really want to see the T-800 with moobs?

Wouldn't it make better sense to have a motion capture of Arnold? The digital version of Arnie looked impressive in the last movie.

Arnold could still cameo as his true self in human form. He could be one of the many forms Skynet took as patterns for the future.

He's playing the Terminatrix from that crappy T3

The only thing I'm not huge on is Jai Courtney, but his role could be centered around action set pieces.

The aging cyborg thing is gimmicky but it might pay off if the movie around that gimmick is good.

I'm sorry but I have to admit, the only ony I have enjoyed from start to finish was T2. But that is just my opinion, and that probably won't stop me from watching this movie.

With this being recently announced to be about a Terminator 1 and 2 together, he is most likely playing a young John Connor. He really could pull off a young Edward Furlong.

Duh of course he ages. Its living tissue over an exoskeleton.

the terminator franchise is going to consist of 2 really good movies 2 average movies and 1 shit stain. Why not give us more of what we saw in Salvation's? probably bc Bale wants nothing to do with it, but still, how many times is John Connor going to be played be a new person, for a movie based on Time travel the continuity is getting all over the place, and i know John ages and you need older actors for various parts of his life but this is getting out of hand, idk ill wait for a trailer but still, i dont like that this movie is happening

Holmes, next to a few good action sequences and a cool setting, Salvation was shit. It had a terrible story and super boring characters. Those awesome future scenes from T1 and T2 were a million times better!

Besides all that, Salvation lost money for the studio.
