The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Terminator: Genisys will feature:
Director: Alan Taylor
Arnold Schwarzenegger as the original T-800
Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor
Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese
Jason Clarke as John Connor
J.K. Simmons as Detective O'Brien
Matt Smith as Tim/T-5000
Lee Byung-hun as the T-1000
Courtney B. Vance as Miles Dyson
Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson
Gregory Alan Williams as Detective Harding
Sandrine Holt in an unspecified role
Douglas Smith in an unspecified role
Aaron V. Williamson as young T-800
Nolan Gross as Skynet

Me to. I was initially completely against this movie, but the trailer actually convinced me! Alan Taylor is a cool director, so I look forward to seeing what he does here.

Can't wait for Mad Max Fury Road!!!

I have my trepidations with Terminator Genisys but honestly with their respective second trailers, it looks like it will at least be a better movie than Jurassic World.

Prepare your anus for it. My heart is still racing from it.

... I forgot about this garbage coming out as well. This and Jurassic Park is all we have left to look forward to this summer?

That's it. I'm gonna go steady. Kinda pointless waving the single banner when there's no good movies coming out till Star Wars at Christmas... ugh. Relationship time again.

**I had the best 'Whoop de fucckin do' GIF that is no longer able to be posted due to new anti-GIF law***

Shit... the Apocalypse is most definitely upon us.

I went into this summer thinking Fury Road would be my must see film and after seeing Avengers AoU,
I know that to be true.

Also, having more interest in Terminator Genisys, but that came with the price of seeing the latest trailer
with the massive spoiler that should have been an "oh sh.t" moment on the level of "I'am your father"

@DeusExSponge Max Payne? Didn't know it was coming out, and I did love the game, but I don't think that it will be the film hero we want or need in 2015.

Both these shots are CGI:

That's right, the CGI from shitty Terminator 3 (12 years ago) is better than modern day 2015 CGI.

I'm not so sure the second trailer with the big reveal was a good idea. Not unless they have another bigger secret...

@imThedoctor that is not CGI. Iam pretty sure both of those photos are of practical models

@ImTheDoctor like @MrBatmor said those are animatronic models. The ones for T3 were created by Stan Winston, who had been involved in all the Terminator movies from the first one to Salvation. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago.

If that cover is CGI I am really impressed. I thought it was a real prop from the film. So I am a little confused by the other comments on this thread? Is there something I am missing about the quality of cgi in this film?

I haven't watched the latest trailer with the supposed 'twist' in it, as I found out about it before I was going to watch it. I'm trying to avoid finding out what the twist is until I see the movie. My only question is: Is it a good twist or a bad twist?
MrBurns
MrBurns - 5/7/2015, 10:23 AM
@fettastic Thanks for the advice man. So now I have to avoid posters for it as well. This is ridiculous! What if I open a magazine (like EMPIRE) and the poster is right there in front of me, as they commonly put posters on the inside cover.

I wonder if it was the directors decision to reveal the twist like this, or is it just really shitty marketing by the marketing team.
imthedoctor
imthedoctor - 5/7/2015, 12:58 PM
Each of those are CGI. I watched the special features of T3, that shot was CGI.

And the shot of the T-800 in Genisys is CGI, as you can tell by just watching the trailer and seeing how bad it looks in motion.
