After hearing less than favorable reviews for this film, I decided to skip out on seeing it on the silver screen. I think I made a wise decision.

I Am Number Four centers on a young alien who is constantly being hunted by other aliens so they can claim Earth as their own. It has an element of Superman to it, seeing as how Four's father sent him off of the dying planet in order to protect others.

First off, the special effects were good. They did a good job of focusing more on who the character really was and what he's been through in order to get where he is today. The development would have been awesome, had it not been for Alex Pettyfer's terrible acting. He reminded me of Hayden Christensen, and once I realized that, I couldn't look past it.

I don't care for Dianna Agron at all. After hearing her voice, it was like listening to a dying giraffe while Lady GaGa's newest album was blaring. In retrospect, those two analogies actually sound similar, but I digress.

Timothy Olyphant and Kevin Durand were probably the best parts of this movie.

Olyphant plays Pettyfer's warrior guardian, sworn to keep him safe from the Mogadorians who are hellbent on decimating those who are strong enough to oppose them, which is where Durand comes in to play.

Durand plays the head Mogadorian and, although his screen time is minimal, this guy could pull off an awesome Atrocitus if there was ever a need for him in future Green Lantern movies.

All in all, I Am Number Four isn't really worth the time. I say skip it unless you have a fetish for male models who can't act for crap and a fairly thin script.

It would appear that you are either jealous of Hayden Christensen's talent and good looks or just plain don't like him. It's been 10 years since the prequels so get over it and George Lucas' treatment of it. Hayden has consistantly given stellar performances in all of his movies. In Life As A House he received a Golden Globe nomination at 19 years old, in Virgin Territory he showed he could do romantic comedies with a bawdy sexy twist (besides he looked like a god on horse!), in Factory Girl his role showed us a Dylanesque rock and roller, in Shattered Glass he gained a best actor award along with Peter Saarsgard, in Awake he was like old Hollywood in his presentation and acted his socks off, in Jumper he was macho who does his own stunts, in Takers he was a gun wielding, logistician, also sexy as hell. So to say that Alex Pettyfer was like Hayden is like saying water is as a rock! I saw Number Four at the theatre, true it was weak in the writing as MOST movies are these days and Alex has NONE of the talent and charisma Hayden Christensen has. Ya know, it's been 10 whole years since the prequels, get OVER it. ALL the actors even the great Samuel L. Jackson was made to look like a wooden soldier. It was Lucas' vision not yours, not mine, ONLY his!

Hayden has never been good in any movie, he has as much acting depth as Keanu Reeves or Nicholas Cage. Funny thing is Tittie never mentioned Star Wars yet you did, someone has some insecurities about Hayden which is strange...because you're not Hayden.

Now do yourself a favor and get over yourself, not everyone is on Hayden's junk like you.

Well sorry, but I saw the movie on the Big Screen several times since I like it. I think DJ Caruso did a great job with the movie. Even the music is good. My favorites are "Letters from the sky" (Civil Twilight) and "Shelter" (The XX). But of course all the songs are great. And I think DJ Caruso was especially good with the casting. I like the way Alex Pettyfer plays his characters, but I also liked Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer and Callan McAuliffe.
And that there was great CGI work has already been mentioned above. That reminds me to mention that there wasn't only CGI but also a lot of stunt work. And almost all stunts have been done by the actors themselves. Especially Alex Pettyfer and Teresa Palmer had to do a lot of stunt work. The only stunt that had to be done by a professional stuntman was the Jet-ski flip.
And of course it's out of the question for me not to get it on DVD or Blue-Ray.
