Loved District 9 but cannot stomach Damon's leftist ways. Blomkamp and Damon are comrades in arms.

No way either gets any of my money.

I'll catch this one on the stream for free!

just like man of steel? is that guy on the right an idiot

in man of steel clark is a loner taking odd jobs and is more like a ghost and looked like a bearded fisherman and isn't sure where he belongs in the world

in the end he gets accepted by the military and lois lane and is working at the daily planet with a smile on his face with the line

"welcome to the planet"

yeah totally the same from beginning to the end

It's hard for me to trust Mark's opinion on anything after the whole Man of Steel debacle. But at the same time I think Neil Blomkamp is incredibly talented and Elysium looks awesome. I'm inclined to believe that this movie hits much much more than it misses and 3/5 Schmoes seems low.

But I obviously have to see the movie for myself first. I wouldn't be shocked if Mark is right this time around...But he's still wrong on Man of Steel

You know what I'm getting sick and tired of? Conservatives bitching about any movie that has a positive message. Anytime a movie has a positive message like (Equal Access to Healthcare can improve quality of life). So [frick]ing what if that's what the message is about. That has nothing to with Liberal or Conservative and has everything to do with life and death. Conservatives need to know this, because it's a fact. Artists, rather it be vocal, literary, illustrators, film directors, musicians etc, are mostly liberals. So please get over it. Even though I'm a tree hugging liberal I don't let politics get in the way of my entertainment. Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, James Woods, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvestor Stallone are some of my favorite actors. And guess what, they're all Conservatives. But who gives a [frick] when it's about the art, and not about the politics.

The opinion of these fanboys has about as much value to me as knowing the cheapest price of frozen peas.

@kalisto2010 its debatable if its a positive message, most can agree that in theory communism is a nice idea but when put in reality its simply another example of how power corrupts and absolute power corrupts completely, movies like these give idealized hollywood versions of things like healthcare and social reform that can't actually happen in real life but work on screen wonderfully the way laser pistols and action heroes do. Whatever though, f-ck it though im just a libertarian who wants everyone to starve and get sick. Seriously when will humanity learn that POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS COMPLETELY, corporations and large governments are the same thing lol they employ shit tons of people run horribly make profit off of the product they sell (be it computers or social security) that mostly goes to the elite working at the top. I want to enjoy this movie but its just gonna be a sci-fi ad for whatever crap healthcare system is gonna get forced down our collective throats.

@fettastic, Maybe I have gobbled up a lot of BS, in these days I dont know who to tust, conservative radio show guys making millions to monger political controversy, or the government officials running us bankrupt, I am bothered by the government taking another step into my life. I like the idea of going and getting free medicine when I am sick, i've heard its great in canada. But im just theorizing about america, but if health insurance companies figure out loopholes to cheat people of care to cut costs, wont our government that is running into bankruptcy try to do the same? I mean won't they have to? There has to be a better way without a large corporation or government distributing the pills.

@fettastic My views are based on history and I know im not right about a lot of things, your point on universal healthcare is great it would give everyone an equal shot at life, I just feel that consolidation of any power or service breeds corruption. I will do some research into other countries healthcare systems, send me the most ideal country you can think of, I want to look into it, the toughest question with healthcare I have is when does a human lose his/her right to be treated at what point to we say "your too sick for care" or "Your too old" because taking care of the young and healthy is easy but at what age do we decide its no longer worth it and they need to die and stop wasting medical treatment to keep their lives going on a breathing tube.

@dcwanabe I really don't understand why you even bother with fettastic. He's clearly incapable of debating or discussing anything with any modicum of decency, maturity or intelligence. His comments reek of the petulant childlike idiocy that the majority of liberals lash out with when you disagree with them. Tolerance! Amirite? Likely fresh out of HS or college and naive as [frick]. When all else fails just bring up fisting and anal rape to prove your point. Bravo.

Anyway DCwanabe, one thing I've learned is that extreme viewpoints of either political orientation is akin to lunacy. You will never get anywhere arguing with a bleeding heart libtard or a neo-con piece of shit. Just remember, there is no black and white. It's all a bunch of [frick]ing gray.

There is no country that is a magical wonderland of free healthcare for all. There are downsides to every socialized healthcare system. If/when the US implements theirs, it will be no different.

Everyone getting no questions asked, free healthcare solely via taxpayer money is a great idea. It simply isnt feasible. The money needed is astronomical. Obamacare has already run out of money and it hasnt even been implemented yet. All it will end up doing is force people to buy insurance they don't want. Except the insurance will be run through another superfluous government agency instead of a private insurance company. I havent had insurance for over ten years and yet I've never suffered when I'm sick, and have had 3 necessary surgeries without issue despite my lack of insurance. It's not the dire situation it's made out to be.

In the end, the problem is the worthless wastes of oxygen that litter our government. They will never provide the healthcare system that people dream about. Every draft of a healthcare bill they try to sneak in shit like death panels aka euthanization of our elderly, fines for people who dont buy an obamacare package, or other stupid shit. Theres a reason they wouldnt let congress read the bill until they passed it. Lol. The scumbag politicians can [frick] off with their healthcare until they come up with something that isn't eugenics in a new package.

Problem is, they won't. This is the way they want things. Why? Well, that's an entirely different discussion.
