In just 2 days the most anticipated episode of Doctor Who in years will land on our screens, the 50th anniversary episode, The Day of the Doctor.

50th Anniversary Trailer

Right now, we don't know too much about what's going to go down in the episode. So here's my view on what we'll see:

Characters

David Tennant the 10th/11th Doctor (depending on who you listen to), Billie Piper Rose Tyler, the Zygons (who first appeared in 1975's Terror of the Zygons and have only been referenced since), the infamous Daleks, Matt Smith the 11th/12th Doctor (also depending on who you listen to) and Jenna-Louise Coleman Matt Smith's most recent companion will all be returning for the 50th Anniversary episode on Saturday.

What's the importance?

This might just be the biggest and most important episode in Doctor Who history. For many, just having David Tennant is great and will definitly bring back all old 'Whovians' that quit after his regeneration.

Returning Characters?

With the return of Rose Tyler, there's a strong chance we could see the return of the Bad Wolf, which she absorbed from the TARDIS in 2005's The Parting of the Ways.
Even though Christopher Eccleston did absorb it from her causing his regeneration, it couldn't have taken it all from her (and this is SciFi so logic goes out the door).
The Zygons returning will make this a real challenge, due to them being shape shifters, we will most likely see them turn into the friends of the Doctor or the man himself to distract them from there journey.

'The Night of The Doctor'-Mini Episode

This mini episode was definitly needed for the 50th Anniversary episode. In this episode we are coming out of the Time War it seems. The Doctor is in a ship, and a girl who he is trying to make come with him in the TARDIS (Which still looks like a Police box).
At this point everyone hates Time Lords just as much as Daleks because of the war. So she denies the offer, but even with the Doctor trying his best to prove that he is a man of peace not a fighter. The ship goes down, crashes, they both die. Landing on the planet Karn.
The sisterhood on the planet seemed to know this would happen and they knew that The Doctor would be the one to save them from the Time War. The sisterhood owns the Sacred Flame, which is used to make the elixir of life. They bring the Doctor back to life for four minutes. They tell him that he has to stop the Time War and that he basically has no other choice. They present with every colour of the rainbow and this will make him any Doctor he wants to be. He chooses the cup of war. This causes him to regenerate into the War Doctor (John Hurt).
Before he regenerated he said sorry to all his companions and friends, which could mean to say that there is something really sinister is on it's way...

Anyway, Thank you for reading. Any opinions, drop a comment.
Bow-ties are definitly cool!

For a character who gets a new body every couple of years, he never really was very fond of change.

My sister and I are going to a 3D showing Monday, reaching a whole new level of dorkiness with some cosplay involved as well (we won't be alone, as far as I can tell).

Who are we going as? The two characters who have absolutely zero bearing on the Day of the Doctor (as far as anyone can tell).... Captain Jack Harkness and Amy Pond. I spent today getting reacquainted with Tandy Leather supplies and stitching the vortex manipulator together.

I'm actually kind of excited because I'm not a real Doctor Who fan, I just love fueling my sister's uh... geek-ery? I've seen the first season, bits of Tennant, and quite a bit of Matt Smith. It's not a hard show to watch, you just have to kind of get in the mood for it.

The Night of the Doctor was interesting.
