Well, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu trolled us all pretty damn effectively a little earlier today! When he dropped that cool new teaser poster for the movie, the actor said that the trailer would follow in "a few weeks." Well, try a few minutes, because it's right here!
There are some intriguing shots here, including confirmation that the Ten Rings are being portrayed very differently from the comic books. Razor Fist can also be glimpsed in action, but the highlight is, without a doubt, seeing Shang-Chi himself taking down his enemies. Visually, this looks like a blast, and a movie that mixes the martial arts genre with the world of superheroes in an effective way.
"Marvel Studios’ 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings' stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization," reads a brief synopsis shared by Marvel Studios.
The movie also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by David Callahan, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham the movie is set to be released theatrically on September 3rd, 2021.
