What If...? may have launched on Disney+ today, but it's worth noting that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now just weeks away from arriving in theaters.
Screenings are expected to begin taking place over the next couple of weeks, and Marvel Studios has now shared another TV spot for the movie. This one shows more of Shang-Chi wielding the Ten Rings, and it's looking a lot like that will be the source of the hero's powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Crucially, there's also a scene at the end of this sneak peek which sees Shang-Chi explaining to Katy how his name is pronounced. Simu Liu has brought this up on Twitter a few times now, but after decades of uncertainty among comic book readers, it's good to hear the official version here!
Check out this TV spot for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings below:
"Marvel Studios' 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings' stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization," reads a brief synopsis shared by Marvel Studios a couple of months ago.
The movie also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by David Callahan, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Lanham the movie is currently set to be released exclusively in theaters on September 3, 2021.
