Simu Liu is riding a hot streak at the moment after starring in one of the MCU's best Phase 4 films and he's next set to appear in one of this summer's most highly-anticipated blockbusters, Barbie.
However, Liu can't escape the allure of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as fans and interviewers alike are eager to learn when they'll next see Shang-Chi appear.
Previously, Liu disclosed that it all depends on when the next Avengers film is released, as he was told that the Shang-Chi sequel would not be released before Earth's Mightiest Heroes deal with Kang.
Speaking to Men's Health Magazine, Liu was asked about what MCU star he'd like to work with, and his answer might surprise you.
"I'll single out [Ms. Marvel star] Iman Vellani. First of all, she's a fellow Canadian. She's just so great. The few times I've met her, and all the conversations we've had, she's just such a wonderful human being. I'm so excited to get to play opposite any and all of the amazing people that have been introduced into the universe. But she's just… I don't know, I guess she's really just stuck out to me as someone who just absolutely loves it, and loves the world, loves the position that she's been put in."
"It kind of, I guess, reminds me of myself in a way—she was such a big Marvel fan from before too. And it's just surreal to her too, every bit of as much of a dream come true for her as it is for me."
Currently, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set for release on May 01, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars, is currently set to be released on May 7, 2027.
However, everything appears to be in flux at the moment, thanks to the joint WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike. If these strikes last a lengthy amount of time as most pundits anticipate, expect both films to see their release dates shift.
