SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Director Reveals When The Next Trailer Will Be Released

After it was pushed back from last December to this April, we've been waiting a while to see more from Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and director David F. Sandberg has now revealed when the new trailer drops.

Like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, original plans called for Shazam! Fury of the Gods to be released in theaters last year. That all changed when Warner Bros. realised it didn't have enough money to market them, and while Arthur Curry's next adventure is now being saved for Christmas Day, we'll catch up with the Shazam Family in a couple of months.

With that in mind, you might be wondering when the next trailer for the Shazam! sequel will be released. Well, around the same time the latest Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania sneak peek dropped, filmmaker David F. Sandberg confirmed a new preview for his DC Comics adaptation will arrive at the end of January.

While we don't have a specific date, we're guessing it's being released to coincide with the Ant-Man threequel so it can play in front of the Marvel Studios movie in theaters.

Its predecessor was a critical hit and performed well at the box office, but four years have passed since then and even casual fans are aware the DCEU's time is nearly up. That may lessen interest in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, so here's hoping this trailer manages to sell it as a must-see.

Take a closer look at Sandberg's trailer tease below.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!," is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.

The sequel's cast includes Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield/Super Hero Mary.

Djimon Hounsou returns as the Wizard, while Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, and Helen Mirren have all joined the movie as newly created villains.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to be released on March 17, 2023.

WB sure know how to kill their own hype

I feel like this, Aquaman and the flash should have been released ages ago. Teasing these films for so long just makes me feel uninterested (I'll still go watch though).

@ClungesForever - I don’t think they care that much now that the the DCEU is coming to an end.

Don't bother, the first trailer was abysmal.
