SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Promo Posters Tease The Shazam Family's Electrifying Powers

Two new promo posters for Shazam! Fury of the Gods have been released, putting the spotlight on both the powered-up Billy Batson and each member of the Shazam Family. Take a closer look after the jump...

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is fast approaching, and we now have a new look at the movie thanks to a couple of very colourful promo posters.

On those, Zachary Levi's magically charged superhero takes centre stage, as does the entire Shazam Family. Those kids turned superheroes were only really given the chance to shine during Shazam!'s final act, so we're definitely intrigued to see how they factor into this follow-up.

There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding this franchise as we head into a new era of storytelling at DC Studios, something Shazam! Fury of the Gods' lead star recently shared his thoughts on.

"Listen, I have no idea what ultimately is going to happen to me. I think I’m in a pretty good position, I think we made a great movie, I think it’s going to do well - reasonably well, I hope so," Levi admitted in an Instagram Live. "But again, regardless of that, if they decide at some point that this is the way we gotta go - them’s the breaks, that’s how it goes."

Check out these new promo posters for the sequel in the Tweet below.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!," is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam.

The sequel's cast includes Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield/Super Hero Mary.

Djimon Hounsou returns as the Wizard, while Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, and Helen Mirren have all joined the movie as newly created villains.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to be released on March 17, 2023.

I can only say I have absolutely zero interest in this movie, and that’s even before Mr Gunn in his infinite wisdom binned all the good bits of the ‘DCEU’

I like Shazam but don't like the Shazam family so pass. Plus the DC drama about firing their actors except Ezra has soured me on everything DC. I just pics of a pregnant Joker giving birth not long ago so I'm done with DC and I've been a DC guy my entire life.

I’m not familiar with the Shazam family. They all have the exact same powers don’t they?

@mountainman - I believe in the comics he’s able to split up his six powers between himself and his family so each has one ability that is more dominant but I don’t remember if that was the case in the movie.

@noahthegrand - OK that makes more sense to differentiate them. In the brief part of the first movie they were all in, they didn't seem to be unique outside the look of each actor.

Doing the entire Shazam family at the end of the first film was a mistake, I feel.

What would redeem this particular franchise would be that Shazam(Captain Marvel) and his "family" are actually the villains and don't even know it.

This movie is going to bomb, hard. Very difficult to build up excitement when (i) too much time has passed since the first movie (which was one of DC's best) and (ii) the villains are led by an old lady. No Black Adam showdown, and no Mr. Mind, who was teased at the end of the first film.

@GeneralZod - ...you think Helen Mirren isn't as big of a draw as a talking caterpillar?

Why say this is a tease of their power? We've already established their powers in the first movie.

This is like having webs on a Tom Holland Spiderman 4 poster then being like "they're teasing his powers with this new poster".

But will we see the greatest member of the Shazam family, TAWKY TAWNY THE TALKING TIGER?????

It’s unfortunate they can’t use Mister Mind as a villain but all things considered, it was right to fire him after he went on that show and said those things

Their real power was managing to check so many boxes. the Marvel family would need about 10 more members to cover enough boxes in the sequel to satisfy Hollyweird.

I agree with several of the others here. 1st movie should have just been about Billys power. Family was introduced way too early. Honestly, I could have done without them period.
