SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Rumored To Feature A Cameo Appearance From Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman

Shazam! Fury of the Gods has all the makings of a hit, but a new rumour points to the sequel featuring a major cameo in the form of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman! Find more details on that after the jump...

Shazam! Fury of the Gods isn't going to pit the title character against Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, but that doesn't mean we won't see other familiar faces from the wider DC Extended Universe. The first movie ended with Superman showing up (minus Henry Cavill's head), and The Illuminerdi is now reporting that there are plans for Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman to appear in the sequel.

It doesn't sound like this cameo is planned to be a surprise, with it instead used to further cement Shazam's place as a magical superhero in the DCEU.

We know the Shazam Family is set to take on the three daughters of Atlas in the sequel, and seeing as Billy Batson makes use of Atlas' stamina, it's likely a better exploration of his and the team's powers will be featured here. Remember the "Z" in "Shazam" stands for Zeus and Wonder Woman is his daughter.

As a result, we could be looking at a full-blown team-up, but that's not confirmed just yet.

This will be Gadot's first time playing Diana Prince since Wonder Woman 1984 was released on HBO Max this time last year. The actress also played the Amazon in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, while filmmaker Patty Jenkins is actively developing a Wonder Woman 3

With any luck, Shazam and Wonder Woman crossing paths will lead to much bigger things down the line, but this sounds like a lot of fun. There's also been some chatter on social media recently that test screenings for the Shazam! sequel have been taking place, with the response extremely positive thus far.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to be released on June 2, 2023.

Cool if true

Fine if it doesnt

After 1984 kind of indifferent to her returning, will watch the third film if it looks good

Sure I guess. Kinda soured on the character a little after WW84 (not entirely but a bit of the luster is gone for me) but if ever there was a character for Shazam to get a cameo for outside of Superman I do think WW makes sense especially given the subject matter of this movie.

Well she is the Godkiller. Makes sense that she'd probably want to look into a bunch of Gods running around.

@TheMapleSyrup - But it makes a little less sense that there would be any gods running around.

Lot of awful things have went on in the past 2 years. 2021 wasn't much better than 2020. But man, we ended it on a strong note.

In the span of about a month, we got the greatest Beatles documentary since Anthology. We got a Kingpin confirmation, and in ONE DAMN FILM we got Matt Murdock, Green Goblin, Electro, Sand Man, Lizard, Doc Ock, Venom, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Not to mention Carnage vs Venom, and Kate Bishop. Also, finally, earlier in the year we got a Black Widow film, and Shang FREAKIN Chi. We even got the fabled Snyder Cut. I know I'm missing a lot here, but I feel like I have been saying this for over a decade, but this is a great time to be alive for comics fan.

2022 has a lot to live up to. I think it will deliver. Flash, The Batman, Black Adam, She-Hulk, Morbius, and a lot more. Also, we are getting another Spider-Man Playstation game. And another tease of the Wolverine game. We are so spoiled.

2010 was such a bad year.

For Cbm’s.

We got WW84, New Mutants, and HAHABloodshotHA.
It took me three tries to finish wonder woman, I never did finish new mutants. The first therapy session and I needed one of my own. Now if it were new mutants: the dream warriors, I would try it again. And the less said about bloodshot the less better, or somethin

Maybe it's time to just put the Rock in this movie. Black Adam movie without Shazam is like a Venom movie without spider-man

@JFerguson - Not really Black Adam does have his own story separate from Shazam (he did come before billy) and pretty sure he did have his own stories pre flashpoint

@dracula - not that I disagree with what you're saying but the same also applies to venom without spiderman.

@Origame - difference is Venom’s story comes from Spiderman

Technically Billy’s story comes from Adam

@AmazingFILMporg - how is the DCEU not connected? Maybe in the sense of an overarching story line, I can see that but
Shazam is the only one that hasn’t had any real connection to the others.
It’s well established they all co exist in the same universe.

The universe is connected, that’s been established.
