Tickets for Shazam! Fury of the Gods are now on sale, and several new interviews with the main cast members are doing the rounds online.
While speaking to Den of Geek, star Zachary Levi, who plays the titular Big Red Cheese, was asked about the future of the franchise now that DC Studios is under new leadership and whether a crossover with Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam is still a possibility.
“That’s all way above my pay grade,” he said. “I was trying to get the same answer. As fate would have it, we have two new excellent leaders in James Gunn and Peter Safran. They’re both friends of mine who I trust very deeply, and I know that they are concocting really cool plans. I don’t know what they are, but I will trust wherever they want to take us.”
Levi initially seemed confident that he'd be staying on as Shazam in the new DCU, but would later admit that he wasn't sure what the future had in store for his take on the character.
Gunn and Safran never actually addressed Levi's status during their recent slate announcement, but it was generally assumed that, if he was to return, it would be in an "Elseworlds" capacity. That said, we recently learned that a third Aquaman movie with Jason Momoa is being discussed, so who knows?
