Will Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman Be Making An Appearance In SHAZAM 2?

A rumor recently did the rounds that Gal Gadot might be set to make an appearance as Wonder Woman in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and star Rachel Zegler has now strongly hinted that the report was accurate.

Last year, a rumor did the rounds that Wonder Woman was set to appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and star Rachel Zegler has now strongly hinted that Gal Gadot's Amazonian warrior will indeed show up in David F. Sandberg's sequel.

The West Side Story Star, who's set to play Snow White next to Gadot's Wicked Queen in Disney's upcoming live-action remake, was asked if there was any truth to the report during an interview with Empire, and while she didn't confirm anything outright, her response was very telling!

"I'm not going to say much, but [filming Snow White] wasn't our first meeting."

Yeah, we reckon Wondy dropping in is a pretty safe bet! We have no idea how she'll factor into the plot, but Diana and Shazam do share a few significant connections, so she could serve as the hero's guide to the wider DCEU and possibly even open the door to him joining a new incarnation of the Justice League.

The Shazam! sequel will see the return of Zachary Levi as the titular superhero, along with Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as Darla, Ross Butler as Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary, D.J. Cotrona as Pedro and Adam Brody as powered-up Freddy. Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu will join Zegler as the villainous daughters of Atlas.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2023 2022.

Makes sense, both are tied to greek mythology

Hopefully this makes up for 1984, after that im kind of indifferent to wether Gal stays or not. Would be nice to have my interest restored

Sophia Boutella is my replacement pick for Wonder Woman if Gal leaves after her trilogy

@dracula - The thing is how you handle it, during the first movie's credits, they showed that Billy liked Wonder Woman, what are you going to do with that? Diana just raped a dude in WW84, she is going for a minor now?

Lol she just spoiled that shit without a second thought. DC needs snipers.

@BlackBeltJones

Wouldn’t be surprised if they tease it in the trailers. A WW appearance could boost numbers.

@regularmovieguy - going against Avatar, this film could use the help

@dracula - Hell yeah! I see a lot of negativity on here about the first one. I thought it was the direction that the universe needed.

...every single studio on Earth is adding unnecesary cameos in their movies after the success of NWH, right?
DTor91
DTor91 - 3/15/2022, 9:23 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - NWH wasn’t the first nor will it be the last to have cameos.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/15/2022, 9:26 PM
@DTor91 - It was the first which's foundation was the cameos...cameos that start 20 minutes into the movie, and never stop.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/15/2022, 9:28 PM
@DTor91 - Of course, it made sense in the context of the story they were trying to tell (NWH is more of a celebration of Spidey's 20 years on the big screen than a movie), but Hollywood, as always, learned all the wrong lessons, and will put cameos on everything no matter if it makes any sense.
Is the reason why I think The Flash will suck, and why I fear for Dr Strange 2.
TheSuperMex
TheSuperMex - 3/15/2022, 9:33 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - cameos? Those characters had roles in the movie and they weren’t cameos. That’s like saying Iron Man had a cameo in Civil War.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/15/2022, 9:38 PM
@TheSuperMex - Yes, that is why I said they made sense in the context of the story.
But they are still cameos, how much screentime do Molina, Foxx, Andrew, and Toby had? and lets not even mention the Lizard and Sandman.

But studios now will have Michael Keaton/Patrick Stewart/Gal Gadot just dropping for no reason other than "remember that?".
I wouldnt be surprised if Sony forced a Wesley Snipes cameo in Morbius.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Yeah Cameos have been a thing since Supergirl and then really went big with Iron Man 2. I have a bigger problem with making solo movies team up movies. Civil War never really felt like a Cap movie. Its as much an Iron Man movie. I really liked the first Dr Strange movie, not feeling the magic Avengers movie it looks like nor am I feeling Flash. Rather see a Barry movie then a Flash/Batman/Supergirl movie.
Twenty23Three

@TheHumanSpider2 - I mean… Spider-Man’s first appearance in the universe was an unnecessary cameo. Ain’t a new thing in films
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/16/2022, 11:39 AM
@GarthRanzz - I agree.

@Twenty23Three - True, but it is a new thing to base the whole movie on cameos.

Speaking of which; finally watched West Side Story. It's a crime that Spielberg didn't direct a musical sooner.

I still think Lana Condor has a more animated accurate look for the Snow White character, if we're race-changing.

After WW84? I couldn’t care less. What an insane disappointment that film was.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/15/2022, 9:31 PM
@TheLobster - The problem was the script, Gal was fantastic in it, same as Pedro.
But there is no way to save a movie with a bad script, and while I liked the movie, the script was one of the worst we had in years.
TheLobster
TheLobster - 3/15/2022, 9:51 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - I would agree with that. It’s low key crazy that WB greenlit this shit while canceling great stuff but that’s why Discover bought them lol
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/15/2022, 9:59 PM
@TheLobster - My guess is because of the pandemic, they could never do reshoots.
I remember rumours in 2019 about how poorly the movie was received by test audiences, and you can notice several continuity errors (movie starts on Christmas, then suddenly is july, then suddenly is Christmas again, just to name one), I think what we got is the original cut, because the studio was never able to film the needed changes, or even make the proper editing.

That's is what I think, at least.
TheLobster
TheLobster - 3/16/2022, 2:48 AM
@TheHumanSpider2 - yeah, I could see that and you’re not wrong on the continuity making no sense plus the whole third act is just… a goddamn mess at best. It’s such a bummer because the cast was stacked but oh well..

I blame WB for being WB but also Patty because they shouldn’t have begun filming if the script wasn’t at least mostly there.
