SIN CITY Producer Wants A TV Show To Follow Sequel

The Weinstein Company wants a Sin City tv series to quickly follow after the August 2014 release of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Would you want to see such a tv drama or does Sin City belong only on movie theater screens?

“The way to add stability to the [Weinstein Company] is to be in the television business,” said Harvey Weinstein in an interview with The New York Times. The award-minded production company founder went on to name a number of past Oscar winner and contenders from TWC that he would like to bring to television. But he also named a comic book movie. The New York Times went o to report that Bob Weinstein also told them that he's planning to have a Sin City tv series quickly follow Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, with both director Robert Rodriguez and comic book creator Frank Miller aboard the project.

Earlier in November a poster surfaced which had a slight title change for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, retitling the Frank Miller adaptation as Sin City: A Dame to Die For. Since then, there have been conflicting reports about the legitimacy of that poster so for the time being, well continue to call the movie by its original title.

Not really into SIn City and I'm not sure how well it would do as a TV show, but if it happens, good for him.

Do It..great idea.
You can find viable actors to fill the roles & have Frank Miller create new characters & stories.

TV has standards now that easily match the movies & Sin City could work as a series.
Movies are not as engrossing as a quality tv series in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of Sin City. If they're talking network they obviously would have to water down the subject matter. HBO, Showtime, perhaps even AMC late-night could all do it justice.

I say why not, as long as it can hold up to Agents of Shield :-)

As long as Miller is heavily involved, I think it could work great. It's about a diverse group of characters to begin with that only has the corrupt Basin City as the linking theme so why not? Yep, I'd be on board!

If Frank Miller can manage to keep to a TV schedule, sure.
I mean... they weren't thinking of having a Sin City show with guest writers were they?
Because that is not what Sin City was all about. Sin City was all Frank all the time, with a little bit of Lynn Varley splashed here and there. And occasional jam pin-ups.
I mean it's okay that Rodriguez and Tarantino came on board to make the film and all, because Miller was right there to help out, co-directing, rewriting and redesigning.
But a Sin City TV show that has episodes written by people other than Miller is just so bloody not Sin City.

Awesome first movie really good

Marv: [narrating] I don't know why you died, Goldie. I don't know why and I don't know how, I never even met you before tonight. But you were a friend and more when I needed one. And when I find out who did it, it won't be quick and quiet like it was with you. It'll be loud and nasty. My kind of kill. And when his eyes go dead the hell I send him to will seem like heaven after what I've done to him. I love you, Goldie

"As long as it can hold up to Agents of SHIELD" Really? That not asking for much. At least say stand up to something good on television.

I'm just hoping it won't be network television. Spartacus proved you can have a great green screen show.

Eh, huge fan of Sin City and since it's been a long time coming I'll stick to A Dame to Kill for to see if the second film matches up to the first.
