There's a new Sin City TV series in development at Legendary TV, with Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez both in talks to return to the franchise as executive producers. It's currently unclear if they will also co-direct as they did on the first movie.

According to Deadline, the deal would guarantee a first season of the show, contingent on setting it up with a network or streaming platform. There's also a hard-R animated series in the works.

A Sin City series from TWC/Dimension and The Walking Dead's Glen Mazzara was announced back in 2017 with Len Wiseman on board as director, but this appears to be an entirely new project.

There's no word on whether this new show will re-adapt Miller's comic series or tell a completely new story, but the previous incarnation of the series was said to be a "far departure from the films, introducing original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe."

@ComicBookPsycho - I would say the first one was an inspired masterpiece. (I've never seen an audience have as good of a time in the theater as that one on opening night). The second one just didn't feel up to that high level.

That sounds very familiar

@ComicBookPsycho -

If it's as good as the Watchmen series then I'm game. They don't need to re-adapt material that's already been seen. That would be a waste of time. They need to tell compelling stories within the Sin City world and creatively build on it. It's practically already designed for that sort of thing.

People always complain about re-makes so I'd think this would be a good news.

A Sin City animated series in the same vein as Spawn (HBO) would be awesome.

The 2nd film actually 'flows' if you skip the first story with Marv: Just Another Saturday Night.

I could be down with this. Show me some casting news and what streaming service it will be on, then we'll talk.

The first Sin City movie is dope though.

Is that the best you can do, you pansies?

If it’s on a cable network, AMC would be a good place. If it’s on streaming, Amazon Prime or Netflix.

I say a BIG YES to the animated series and a no to the live action. It was cool and kinda fun - once. But I feel like overall, the style lends itself better to an animated version - as long as it's a hard R - and it is.

The first Sin City movie was kinda cool - like it was split right outta the comic... but that second movie was a dog. pretty hard to get though.

One of my favorite comic book movies and the reason why I love Jessica Alba. Didnt see the second one though and part of me never wants to after hearing what people have said.
