SIN CITY TV Reboot In The Works With Glen Mazzara Writing And Len Wiseman On Board To Direct

Sin City is coming to the small screen, as TWC/Dimension is developing a TV reboot of the iconic comic series with the likes of The Walking Dead's Glen Mazzara on board. More past the jump...

According to Deadline, there's a TV reboot of Sin City in the works from TWC/Dimension with Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead, The Shield, Damian) on board as writer, and Len Wiseman (Underworld, Lucifer) handling directing duties. These two will also produce along with Stephen L’Heureux (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) and Sin City creator, Frank Miller.

The site mentions that this small-screen take will "hew closely to the graphic novels", but also that it's going to be a "far departure from the films, introducing original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe." The movies were very faithful to the comics (arguably to a fault), so this definitely seems like a contradiction.

At any rate, Networks are reportedly beginning to show interest, so we should have some more to go on pretty soon.

I hope they don't do the whole green screen thing with the show. It was cool with the first movie and worked really well but I think it's dead now.

With all these comic book movies getting rebooted, be it this or Hellboy, why can't I get a Savage Dragon, or Atomic Robo series?

@BlackIceJoe - There was a cartoon for Savage Dragon in the 90's, though I know it's not the same. But hey, with Invincible getting picked up for a live action movie, maybe other Image Comics will get the same treatment.

@HeyZeusKreesto - Yeah I knew about that cartoon and you're right hopefully more Image Comics will get turned into a live action shows or movies. I love getting to see more stuff outside of the big two and if this show does well I can only see great things for comic fans in the future.

@Lostcause - I never knew about that, so thanks and I hope in the future some company will turn this into a big budget cartoon movie.

Not really sure how much mileage you would get out of a Sin City TV series, given that every single story across both movies essentially trod the same narrative path - hard boiled maverick tracks down asshole to avenge his gal, and then beats the crap out of him.

Don't get me wrong, i loved the first movie, but there is only so much you can do with the material, and they did it.

I don't see why they would do this when the first movie is literally shot for shot and line for line the comics.
