Jeremy Renner may be set to swap his bow and arrow for a pair of bifocals and a revolver in the upcoming Spawn reboot from Todd McFarlane and Blumhouse.

According to That Hashtag Show - who was the first to report on Jamie Foxx's casting before the trades go hold of the story - the Hawkeye actor is in line to play Detective Twitch Williams, who will team-up with the supernatural antihero to track down his daughter's killer.

THS has had a few big scoops, but they've also had a few stories that didn't quite pan out recently, so we'll have to consider this a rumor until we find out more.

In the meantime, let us know what you think about this (potential) Spawn casting news in the comments below.

Where's the article for Nicolas Cage signing on to voice Spider Man Noir in "Into the Spider-Verse"?

Action flicks have been good to Renner.

Renner has really grown on me, I only saw him as Hawkeye until around last year and watched him in a lot more films (The Town, Mission Impossible, Bourne) and the dude is awesome! Seriously slept on his charisma, and he was great in Tag lol

All that to say that this is great news!

Wasn't this film supposed to have some minuscule budget?

@Chewtoy - The actors could very well be joining for the sake of doing something they want to do rather than a paycheck. I'm sure at this point Jamie Foxx and Renner can do a few "passion projects" and not worry that much about the money.

@Himura - I have trouble imagining that Renner is a lifelong fan of ‘Twitch’...

I have no problem saying that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is a bunch of stupid fun. Plus Gemma Arterton is freaking gorgeous.

I don’t know why, but with his recent movies and whilst looking at that banner image, I think Renner could be a pretty good Nathan Drake in an Uncharted movie
