SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Art Reveals Hulkbuster-Style Mysterio, Orlando Bloom As Quentin Beck, More

In this latest round of Spider-Man: Far From Home concept art, we see a Mysterio costume inspired by the Hulkbuster armour, one that seemingly pays homage to Ghost Rider, and various other alternate takes!

Marvel Studios stuck pretty close to the comic books with Mysterio's appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and even found a way to include the villain's fishbowl helmet after it was revealed that Quentin Beck was wearing a mo-cap costume to create those illusions.

Now, some amazing concept art from the sequel has been revealed, and there are some jaw-dropping alternate takes on the villain here. From far more grounded versions of his suit to one which appears to have been inspired by Ghost Rider thanks to the flaming skull inside his helmet, these are definitely a whole lot different to what ended up on screen.

One of the most interesting, however, is a Hulkbuster inspired outfit that was meant to serve as a "space suit" of sorts, which would explain how Beck travelled from one dimension to another.

Perhaps even more noteworthy, though, is the fact that Marvel Studios' concept artists once used Orlando Bloom's likeness for Beck, a sign that he was being considered for Mysterio, perhaps!

I'm glad they didn't overthink Mysterio's design. Ended up looking great, but these would have been good too (except for the skull on that one).

I love the trench coat version. Maybe down the line?

Although, the suit was never "real," per se, so I'm not sure how Mysterio would ever return in costume. It would just be Beck.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - I think the suit was real. He had the lady ironing his cape as he was prepping for his victory speech

This for my family ahhhh! I see vision, strange, and Thor in some of those designs

i see this as more of a "deep sea" suit that a hulkbuster suit...

What we got was fantastic, wouldn't change a thing about it.

@HeavyMetal4Life - well, maybe actually design it like you're trying to make people believe he's supposed to be a superhero.

@Origame -

He does look like a superhero. Flowing cape, secret identity, and various "powers".
Origame
Origame - 10/10/2019, 2:40 PM
@SonOfAGif - really? Because he wears a helmet that completely covers up every possible facial sign that shows he's human (he could be a dog for all we know) and shares the color scheme of characters like lex luthor, loki, and the joker.

@Origame - By your logic Rocket, Groot, Howard the Duck, Korg, Miek, and Mantis aren't heroes because they aren't human. And to the general public, Spiderman could be a creature since his identity was private before the events of Far from home.

@SonOfAGif - they have human features like, you know, a face that expresses emotions. Mysterio completely covers that to the point of hiding the shape of his head or even the face he has eyes. Based off of how his costume is designed, he could be a fish man for all we know. What kind of noble hero would hide the fact he has the most expressive parts of a face?

And not to mention thay literally your whole argument for why this appears to be a superhero look also applies to supervillains. Can you really not see this?

@Origame - Within the MCU name one supervillain who wore a cape, had a secret identity, and had mystical powers? I'll wait.

And while you're at it let's flashback to Iron Man. Nobody knew it was Tony Stark until he ended the film revealing his identity. Nobody knows who Antman is as said by Scott in Endgame. You fail to realize that a secret identity is part of the superhero charm.
Origame
Origame - 10/11/2019, 12:59 PM
@SonOfAGif - well outside of secret identity, loki matches all of it. I don't count that because he kept calling himself quentin beck, to the point it was kind of a plot hole.

And no superhero in the mcu has a secret identity now. What are you talking about?

Orlando Bloom would have been a pretty boring choice. I;m sure he would've done fine, but Gyllenhal knocked it out of the park, he was perfect.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - If the MCU is considering bringing in Orlando Bloom for a role he would make a great Black Heart. I'd love for Hugh Jackman to come on as Mephisto too.
