December is usually a pretty good month for trailers and, as promised, Sony Pictures has unveiled a new look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!
The highly anticipated sequel had been scheduled for release this past October before being pushed to summer 2023. If what we see here is any indication, though, the follow-up to 2018's Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is going to be worth the wait.
While quite a bit of the teaser consists of footage from the previous movie (making us wonder how much work is left to be done on the sequel), we get spectacular new looks at Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, the return of Peter B. Parker, and countless Spider-Man Variants who we're sure fans will spend hours attempting to identify.
For starters, we've also spotted the two video game Spider-Men and the Bombastic Bag-Man!
Check out the new trailer below.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Manis catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
In terms of confirmed cast members, the movie will star Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.
