Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has previoulsy shared a few surprising details about the upcoming SPUMC movie, but it looks like he's learned to keep any secrets he may have to himself!

While speaking to Variety at the U.S. premiere of his new action film Bullet Train, the Kick-Ass star was asked if he could share any updates on Kraven, particular relating to a potential face-off with Spider-Man at some point in the future.

Even if he does happen to know what's in the pipeline, Taylor-Johnson wasn't about to spill any of Sony Pictures' plans, although he did point out that Sergei Kravinoff and the Wall-Crawler have had many battles in the comics, so "the possibilities are definitely there."

Morbius' post-credits scene suggested that the studio may have been building towards some kind of Sinister Six-like team-up movie that would likely feature Kraven, but since the Jared Leto-starrer underperformed, they may well have reevaluated their options and decided on a different course.

In a recent interview, Taylor-Johnson described his character as "just a hunter, a human with conviction. An animal lover and a protector of the natural world.” This is obviously quite a departure from the ruthless villain we first met in the comic books, since a bloodthirsty hunter wouldn't exactly be an easy sell as the lead in a superhero film, it's not hard to understand why they'd make this change.

Kraven the Hunter will also feature Russell Crowe in an undisclosed role (most likely Kraven's father), Fred Hechinger as The Chameleon, Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Christopher Abbott as The Foreigner, and Alessandro Nivola as another unnamed villain. J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier; A Most Violent Year) directed Kraven from a screenplay from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway (Iron Man; Uncharted) and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer; Jack Reacher: Never Go Back).

The movie is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on January 13, 2023
