Filming is now underway on Sony Pictures' mysterious Madame Web in Boston, and the first photos from the set have been shared online. There's no sign of any cast members or notable locations/props just yet (though the presumed timeline is interesting), but we will likely see more revealing snaps as production continues.

The SPUMC ("Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters") movie has assembled a very impressive cast, and there's a rumor doing the rounds that the project was actually developed as a team-up film with Dakota Johnson's clairvoyant lead sharing the spotlight with a number of other female heroes. That remains to be seen, but if there is any truth to the report, co-star Sydney Sweeney wasn't about to give anything away.

Coming off dual Emmy nominations for her roles in Euphoria and White Lotus, Sweeney was asked about Madame Web during an interview with Variety. While she couldn't "really say anything about my character," the actress did express how excited she was about getting the opportunity to appear in a superhero movie.

"Oh my goodness. I grew up watching Marvel movies and superheroes are just the coolest thing ever. So I just dreamt of being able to be a part of something bigger than life itself. And that’s what I feel like I’m getting to be a part of with Madame Web."

You can take a look at the set snaps at the link below.

The movie also stars Emma Roberts, Isabela Merced and Celeste O'Connor. S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders) is directing from a screenplay by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Madame Web was recently given an official release date, and is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2023.

SPUMC?? is that for real? That plus Sweeney in the same article is begging for some rude jokes!

She's talented for sure, i just hope she's not overly used for eye candy though...

However I am guilty for getting a little woody whenever she was on screen in Euphoria.

Off topic:

In an interview with The Direct the Russo’s addressed why they “nerfed”
The Hulk and their reason is ridiculous and lazy.

“ Joe: “Oh, we nerfed the Hulk. We nerfed him. We just didn’t know what to do with him. We were like, ’What, this big powerful character. What we do with this big powerful character?”

I really hope they were being sarcastic.

@SpaceParanoids - Only one who ever cared about Hulk was Joss Whedon.

@TheHumanSpider2 - I know. What a shame how they crapped on that awesome character.

@SpaceParanoids - They’re def being sarcastic. They explained years ago what they were aiming for with Hulk. They’re just teasing the fans who complain about everything by giving them more stupid stuff to complain about lol.

@SpaceParanoids - The issue is I think they could've given him a strong legit arc of coming to terms with his childhood trauma of his abusive dad murdering his mom in front of him and how the feeling of powerlessness as a child manifested into the Hulk identity, and how his loss to Thanos was a reminder of the feelings of fear and powerlessness he felt as a child.
