The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy

Funny how the "you have any idea" thing is still on now playing tv spots and was deleted on the final cut of the movie. lol. Oh and is not the best spider-man yet, it was not good at all, Spider-Man 2 still the best spider-man movie, even the first Spider-Man is better than this. What a Disappointment

Ehh it was ok, not the best spidey ever. Some parts like with Peter and Gwen in her room dragged a bit. Spiderman 2 and even the first Spiderman was better. Not to say that this is a bad film its just it didn't bring anything new to wow me with.

With that said EVERYONE in the cast is superior to Raimis films, except aunt may and ben. I hope they recast the guy that did JJ in Raimis film he is PERFECT..... PERFECT casting

We're all biased but I wish some people would just accept this was better than almost all of the raimi films
CoolantTech
CoolantTech - 7/10/2012, 1:44 PM
This was the best Spider-man film for me, although Raimi's Spider-man 3 was more entertaining (there was more action, Spider-man 3 was still the crappiest as well)

Amazing Spider-man 2 should be the best of the five movies, now that they have that pesky orgin mess out the way.
marvel72
marvel72 - 7/10/2012, 1:48 PM
it was good, but some of it i didn't like. 3/5

should earn some more decent dollar this week,as it gets released in another fourteen countries.

If this movie came out before the raimi films everyone would say that the raimi flicks where a step backwards. this is by far the best spider-man movie to date. Spider-man 2 comes in at second and 1 and 3 come in last. Just my 2 cents...........

@teabag good shit, as for the movie saw it this morning thought it was really good really wasn't feeling the Lizard and some of the score sounded like crap all in all good movie though.

TheWebSlinger - 7/10/2012, 3:31 PM
Spidey31 is right, the only comparable film is Spider-Man 2, and even that had a few problems. The sequel to this should be the best with the origin story out of the way.

I'm guessing half these haters don't really know the Ultimate Spider-man universe, or just hate things because hating things is "Cool", it was a awesome movie, had some flaws but what movie doesn't? This was way better than SM1 or 3
