Emma Stone Says That She Read Death Of The Stacys To Prepare For The Amazing Spider-Man!

In a recent interview with MTV, Emma Stone - who will play Gwen Stacy in the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man - talks about preparing for the role in a joint interview with The Help co star Bryce Dallas Howard (who, ironically, played Gwen n 2007's Spider-Man 3). What I found most interesting in the following selection is that she hasn't really seen any of the film other than small action sequences, and also her research for her role

With so much buzz about the new Spider-Man film, it seems that Stone will be just as surprised as fans to see the flick.

"I've seen nothing, I promise. I've seen small action sequences for the 3-D, and it looked terrible," she joked. "I really haven't seen [anything]."

So what did Stone do to research the role of Gwen — besides leaning on Howard for her first-hand account, of course.

"I read a pretty comprehensive Death of the Stacys book ... and it's a really amazing book to learn the story of Captain Stacy and Gwen Stacy," she said. "And I've read a various amount of comics."

Hmmmm. I guess this hints further at the possibility that Captain George Stacy just might die in The Amazing Spider-Man! We'll see what happens next year when the film comes out.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012!

death of gwen stacy if done right has the potential to be one of the most memorable scenes in a movie. Hopefully the reboots good looking forward to it Garfields an amazing actor so I have full faith in the dude and rest of the cast is solid only doubt I have is Marc Webb although 500 days of summer was pretty good don't know how he's going to handle action, I know he'll do good with the character moments though. Any ways hopefully we get to see some sort of teaser at comic con

C'mon, Rom - you KNOW that doesn't have to mean Cap. George dies in this film. You editors and your speculation-inducing threads. What a tactic, lol. Mindgames, ha ha!

@Jer3miah: First off, I'm not an editor. Heck I'm not even a trusted user yet. ;P
Also, I get where you're coming from. I'm not saying Stacy WILL die in the film, I'm just saying that Stone reading that story for this movie is rather interesting, IMO.
@marvel72: Agreed.

I hope Gwen dies in the second movie. Or maybe in the third. It would be epic.

So here's what should happen.
Gwen dies in the first movie.
then Emma Stone plays Mary Jane as a redhead in the second movie. (:
it'd be stupid, but so so good.

@PaulRom - Ha ha ha, you should be flattered that I thought you were an editor. That means I perceive you well, lol. I get what you mean, though. You comment in the style an editor does. Sparking speculation to create more traffic on the site. Its quite an impressive move.

@Splenda yeah, she said she signed on for three Spiderman films, I think. Maybe she'd die in the second one and be in a flashback or two in the third film, that's how I do it. ;P
@Jer3miah Haha, niiiice. :P

It'll be dope if they kill her off. I'm just hoping that they don't let the lizard do it. Do it in a sequel with the green goblin

Since Oscorp Industries is in this film, they most likely leave it open enough for Norman to be introduced in the second film, and become the Goblin in either that or the third film. THEN we'll see the death of Gwen.
