MADAME WEB Honest Trailer Holds Nothing Back And Takes Aim At Dakota Johnson's Inability To Open A Pepsi Can

The Honest Trailer for Madame Web is finally here and, unsurprisingly, it doesn't go easy on Sony's latest Marvel movie, taking aim at the dialogue, direction, and Dakota Johnson's awkward line delivery.

We've been waiting on this, but the Honest Trailer for Madame Web is finally here and it's fair to say it holds nothing back.

There's plenty for the Screen Junkies team to make fun of, including Dakota Johnson's terrible line delivery and her apparent inability to open a can of Pepsi. The movie's bizarre dialogue ("Don't do dumb things!") also comes under fire, as does Ezekiel Sims' ADR-heavy dialogue.

Director SJ Clarkson also doesn't escape their wrath and neither does the fact Madame Web makes it so that Peter Parker must have created his costume through cultural appropriation after stealing his suit designs from the Amazon's native Spider-People.

Love or hate the Marvel movie - which still hasn't, and likely never will, cross $100 million worldwide - there are plenty of laughs to be had here.

Madame Web's cast hasn't shied away from addressing the failed blockbuster's shortcomings, though Johnson held nothing back when she recently said she's "not surprised" the movie flopped with critics, adding that, "It was definitely an experience for me to make [Madame Web]. I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world."

"But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it’s one thing and then as you’re making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you’re like, 'Wait, what?'" the actress continued. "But it was a real learning experience, and of course it’s not nice to be a part of something that’s ripped to shreds, but I can’t say that I don’t understand."

Sony Pictures probably never had any definitive plans for these characters, but we find it hard to imagine anyone involved with Madame Web being willing to return. Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter are still heading our way later this year and it remains to be seen whether they can escape similar ridicule.

Watch the Honest Trailer for Madame Web below.

Meanwhile, in another universe...In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines.

The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.

The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.

Madame Web is now available on Digital platforms.

I'm so uninterested in watching anything with Madame Web, I don't ever bother watching something that mocks it. Then again, honest trailers isn't what it used to be anymore anyway

@grif - Immaculate $9 million budget $13.1 million gross so far.

If it hits $20 million plus, I would say it's a hit.

@grif - I got that, I'm agreeing her hotness is not assuring viewership, it's not a 'train' in that sense.

It's different than taylor swift, that 'train' granted good numbers to her show at D+.

The acting was bad, the writing was a joke, the villain was an even bigger joke (he literally predicted them coming to steal his spider and kill him, BUT THEY NEVER KNEW WHO HE WAS AND VICE VERSA) the suit up was like 10mins in for less than two minutes, and that's it! This is like a two hour first act. To those who stood up for the Morbius writers, and this nobody director, why? They and the suits [frick]ed this up. Kraven will be just as because he isn't an anti hero! just watch the honest trailer lmao

@bobevanz - why?

It started as a way to mock people that took RT Audience scores seriously and turned into basically (and successfully, mind you) trolling the studio as well.

Honest Trailers needs to go back to being like 2-3 minutes long. Too much fat in these now. Same with Cinema Sins.
