Recent rumors indicated that Sony Pictures' was preparing to get Morbius The Living Vampire into production fairly soon, and it looks like star Jared Leto has now confirmed it.

The Academy Award-winning Suicide Squad actor shared a video to Twitter which shows him shaving off the beard he's been rocking for quite some time now in preparation to step into the shoes of Michael Morbius.

In the comics, the character generally sports a bit of a soul patch, but the camera cuts away before we get to find out if Leto left one after his wet shave.

Morbius The Living Vampire will be directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House; Life) from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Lost in Space, Power Rangers, Gods of Egypt).

No release date has been set, but if the movie is indeed set to commence filming before year's end, chances are we'll get some kind of official announcement on that front soon.
