SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Behind The Scenes Video Reveals Making Of Spidey Vs. Green Goblin And More

A new behind the scenes video for Spider-Man: No Way Home offers up a fascinating glimpse at the sets constructed for the movie, revealing how a number of key sequences were brought to life in the process.

Like the vast majority of Marvel Studios productions, Spider-Man: No Way Home was shot primarily in Atlanta, Georgia. This video is essentially just a bunch of soundbites from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, and Jamie Foxx, but there are some interesting insights.

We also can't disagree with producer Amy Pascal when she says, "You won't know it's not in New York when you see it."  However, most interesting are the snippets of behind the scenes footage showing how key sequences were brought to life on screen. They include the battle at the Statue of Liberty, Peter Parker's first fight with the Green Goblin in that apartment building, and Doctor Octopus' attack on the bridge.

It's amazing to see the practical sets and to then realise the level of movie magic that went into making those locations look like they were really out in the world.

Check out this new featurette for Spider-Man: No Way Home in the player below:

"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."

Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters worldwide!

While the CG was noticaeble a few times (even if it didn’t bother me), the VFX on spideys was the best it has been so far (with Tom Hollands suits atleast)

The amount of this movie that ended up being practical was crazy. It was a little hard to get used to at first because they've gone so far with the CGI, but they seemed to be really intentional this time about showcasing the physicality of the fights this time

@OmegaDaGrodd - That's something that I think is heavily needed in the superhero genre these days. Imagine if the final fight between Killmonger and Tachalla was more practical than the cgi that we got.

Oh no, I knew.

@UniqNo - Ngl, it was hard to tell them apart sometimes, so I understand why they kept a bit of that Iron Spider logo

@KWilly - I can see that, but I think they were apart and together enough for the audience to get a feel for who's who, especially with the voices. And Holland had the white symbol on the back, which was easier to differentiate.

I would have preferred them to loose that CGI (and some others) to give that part of the budget to getting the actors to actually shoot a scene instead of repurposing the old shots of Flint and Dr Conners.

Small nitpick though.

Lol the quick glimpse of the deleted Harry Holland scene. Savage.

I don't understand why they had to add the CG emblem on Holland's suit for the final battle(s).

It would have been that much sweeter having all 3 in just the red and blue/black.

The minor updates to it from the end of FFH made that suit perfect, more perfect infact that the final one we barely saw, as that was also looking heavy on the CGI

they really did green goblin and doc ock justice... the fights with gobby were unreal, they were so brutal. it really did remind me of the fight with spiderman in the first raimi movie

they went in a route with sandman that i didnt even think about, and it loved it... until sandman got upset. i really loved how sandman protected spiderman and asked him what is going on. would have preferred to see it expanded on

electro was a massive step up too. would love to see more of him

lizard needed his snout damn

@RuffianForever - the fight scene between Spidey and Goblin was fantastic specially with Dafoe doing his own stunts.

Seeing Goblin BTFO of Peter was brutal we’re I cheered a bit. I always enjoy when villain can be both physical and psychological dominating opponent towards a superhero. But man Tom’s Spidey got the most brutal beat down than any of these Spidermen in the films. I’m so happy they went the practical stun route on this. Which is something I loved about the Raimi sets were the practical sets.

Just my opinion

@RuffianForever - if they modified Electro, I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same with the Lizard.

@Dotanuki - electro is energy, Lizard needed to undergo a second mutation.

Goblin vs Spidey fights were outstanding! Nice to just stick to wires and actual hand to hand stuff instead of a big CGI fight. Made it feel as brutal as it needed to be.
