SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME International Poster Reveals A First Look At Green Goblin's New Costume And More

A new Spider-Man: No Way Home poster has been revealed that features Electro, The Lizard, & our first look at Willem Dafoe's new Green Goblin suit. This is an interesting take, we're sure you'll agree.

The first couple of posters for Spider-Man: No Way Home failed to impress, but this effort is considerably better. Putting the spotlight on Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and MJ. Doctor Octopus' arms continue to factor into the threequel's marketing, while there's a hint of Sandman as well.

Electro is also highlighted (decked out in his new costume) along with The Lizard, but it's our first look at the Green Goblin's new costume that's likely to generate the most attention.

While Norman Osborn has previously been spotted in his green suit from Spider-Man, this version is heavily armoured and has a hood. He also has his satchel - no doubt full of Pumpkin Bombs - but no helmet. Instead, this Green Goblin has goggles on, which is a disappointment in some ways when fans have been dying to see a comic-accurate take on that iconic, yet hard to adapt, mask.

We can't help but wonder if this Norman is a Variant from yet another world, but we're definitely intrigued to see more. If nothing else, no mask will give Willem Dafoe a better chance to get his performance across. You can check out the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home poster below:

"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."

Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

Bruv...lowering my expectations of this film. It looks like it's doing too much.

@CyberNigerian - still say they should've stuck to an on the run from cops/kraven story.

Everything about this film looks and sounds so rushed, even down to the posters and a lot of the VFX shots in the trailer

I hope Tobey and Andrew get some fun stuff to do at least. Garfield was especially great in Tick Tick Boom recently

I’m so excited for this film, but only for the returning villains and hopefully old heroes. Which is a problem. The new trilogy did great with Mysterio and Vulture to a degree (they’re still not Dafoe Goblin and Molina Ock worthy though) but hasn’t done anything else memorable or great. Supporting cast are lame and not nearly fleshed out enough (though I like Tomei’s May) and Holland’s Spidey has just been too… eh. His fanboyish superearnestness was fun for about 5 minutes in Civil War and then it got old. I look at him and I just hear ‘Mr Stark Mr Stark Mr Stark!’ in a high voice. It’s not Tom’s fault, it’s Watts. Can’t figure out why they bought him back twice. There is nothing about his direction that’s remarkable in any way. If they wanna make a Spiderman film as good as the classics (which were full of faults, don’t get me wrong) they need to shoot higher. They nailed so many heroes, but MCU seems to struggle with Hulk (despite Ruffalo being perfect casting and fantastic in the first Avengers), Thor and Spidey. Thor ended up working after they practically rebooted him into dudeThor with the awesome Ragnarok, but they couldn’t make traditional Thor work. Maybe if they do another Holland trilogy he needs a soft reboot with a more adult take and new support cast, director and tone. 10 years later maybe? If they could age up Holland?

Sony sure loves "Green Goblin far in the backround of a poster" way of advertising.

It's better than other Spider-Man posters, but it is still pretty bad. I don't know who is in charge of them this trilogy, but none of them look good in any way

I re-watched Spider-Man in the last week. Given that we’ve been told these enemies get plucked from their universe at the moment before their death, Goblin wasn’t wearing his helmet at that moment. So, I’m assuming when he first shows up, he doesn’t have it, and he gets/makes one later. That said, I don’t know what I like less, the helmet or just a hood and goggles. I never liked the power ranger outfit for Green Goblin. I just tolerate it. But a hood and goggles is not better.

@Santanaonfire - It's actually the reverse, somewhat illogically; based on the trailers, he arrives in basically his old suit with mask, then I assume it gets destroyed, and he appears in the final battle with the hood and goggles.
Santanaonfire
Santanaonfire - 11/25/2021, 12:16 PM
@BestAtWhatIDo - Either way, Electro gets a good upgrade, but not Goblin. I was really hoping they might find a way to make his aesthetic next level
BestAtWhatIDo
BestAtWhatIDo - 11/26/2021, 12:21 PM
@Santanaonfire - I agree, I was hoping for better, though I like the new suit: I just wish there were a mask, and not the full mask with the frozen smile (which I find moronic) but either a moving rubber one, or half the mask, so we don't lose Dafoe's expressions. I also wish Lizard were upgraded in some way. Still looks like a Goomba from the Super Mario Bros movie.

Maybe it's the fact that the moment he accelerates the glider it's going to drop down or maybe it just doesn't fit with the outfit, not sure which it is but I don't like the hood. Googles are fine though

They managed to have a worse looking costume than the 2001 Green Goblin suit.
