USA Today have unveiled the following Spider-Man action figure (which has 20 points of articulation) that will be available to view at the Hasbro booth on the San Diego Comic Con Convention Center floor. "Although it's still Spider-Man, it's a new story and he's got a new look," said Hasbro's senior global marketing manager for the Marvel Comics brand, Grant Gie.

Apparently, Hasbro added metallic finishes and an additive called rutile to make the figure sparkle. And although the eyes may look white, they have a golden cast to them when catching light in a certain way. The figure is also sculpted in a way to pick up all the details from the movie Spider-Man. The bottom of his feet were tweaked to look the same as the film versions, and he reflects Garfield's leaner physique.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

lol, looks like shit... Can't fault them, though, considering that it looks almost exactly like the movie suit. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for the movie to come out, but I'm baffled by the decisions made regarding the suit and plot. Reboot? [frick]ing pointless... Like we need more origins. Especially ones that we just saw a decade ago.

I will be curious to see how well other action figures of this version of Spidey turn out. I love the suit, but for this figure, it really does not come out well at all.
