Shailene Woodley Confirms Use Of Iconic MJ Line In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

There's a certain line which was uttered by Mary Jane Watson in her first appearance which every comic book fan knows and hopes to one day see on the big screen. Shailene Woodley confirms that it was in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but as she's been cut from the movie, we'll have to wait a while!

Talking to Empire Online at the San Diego Comic-Con, Shailene Woodley once again reiterated the fact that Mary Jane Watson's role in the Marc Webb helmed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a minor one and easily cut from the already very busy sequel. "She was only going to be in four scenes," explains Woodley. "I think it’s really incredibly smart that she’s not in it, looking back at it now because they’re introducing so many characters and MJ is such a vital character that it makes sense to hold off for future movies to introduce her." Ok, but we've already heard similar comments from both the actress and others involved with the film; will she or will she not be back for the third instalment? The site unfortunately didn't get chance to ask, but with all those rumours of the part being recast, don't count on it. However, they did ask her one other very important question; did she utter the immortal "Face It Tiger, You Just Hit The Jackpot" line? "I did say it," she confirmed. Here's hoping we get to hear it in the next instalment!





In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. I'm sure this version of Parker wouldn't have any trouble hitting slots all around the campus...isn't spidery supposed to be a dorky need kid that would be overlooked by hot girls. Andrew is a good looking guy, he is dating or was, Emma stone. Let's face it guys, of course he's going to hit. Heck he might be prom king. I'd like to know what this world would look like from the perspective of the dork that gets bullied.

See that is what I keep saying. i don't think guys are saying "recast she is so ugly". they are saying..."I love mj in the comics who is a sexy tall redhead model/actress... Shailene is not the MJ I know." She prob would have been fine in the roll cause she's just as good looking as dunst if not better in different photos. But fanboys want a sexy as hell drop dead model. I heard millions of girl bitch when Patterson was cast as Edward in twilight. Then the movie comes out and now they down their pants in a heart beat for the dude.

She's kind of whiny/annoying in TV shows I've seen her in (secret life), but besides that she definitely looks better than Dunst *shiver*. And yeah, MJ ain't gonna fit into this universe as long as Pete is with Gwen.

I really hope they don't recast her. I think it's completely unfair what most of the fans did to her. I was actually looking forward to her proving everyone wrong. Hopefully, she'll be given the chance to shine as MJ in the sequel.

I've only seen The Descendants a few days ago, and she's stunning...and also brilliant an actress! Hopefully, the above comment is an indication that she's going to be spared for the third entry, not recast whatsoever, because now I'm totally on board with her as MJ.
