Hugh Sicotte has posted concept art that he created for Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. One set features the look of the eel tanks that Oscorp employee Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) falls into, which leads to his Electro transformation. Another set of designs is of the water chamber located at the Ravencroft Institution. Hugh even worked on the secret Roosevelt subway station where Richard Parker built a lab in a subterranean subway car.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn.

How exactly did the eels give him electric powers? Were they mutated? If they were, what exactly was Oscorp doing with them? Why wasn't the lid on the eel tank closed? How could the eels fix the gap between Max's teeth?

Even by comic book standards this makes no sense.

Watching the clip posted in this article reminded me how bad Foxx was as Electro. It's not entirely his fault though.

"Yeah I had a friend once.."

No you didn't. Spider-Man did not know who the hell you were. It's such a joke. So his motivation is to kill spidey cause he thought they became bffs? What the shit. Why don't you kill whoever is responsible for you becoming Electro. Kill the stupid character BJ from the office played. Kill your stupid mom. Any of those would have made sense.

@mattattack- That's probably the biggest reason I hated the villains in this movie. A recurring theme for Spider-Man villains is that they are irresponsible with their great power. It's nothing like that here. Electro hates Spider-Man because he didn't give him attention. Harry hates Spider-Man because he didn't give him his blood. They're not irresponsible, they're just crybabies who hate Spidey because he never gave them what they wanted.

Obviously the concept designers have talent. It's just a shame to see it wasted on such a shiatty script.

Hopefully when Marvel gets the rights back they'll actually use something amazing, like THIS, for inspiration!

@Chloefornication- If the movie wants me to believe eels can give Max Dillon electric powers, fine. I can suspend my disbelief for that. Everything else I mention though, not a chance. Suspension of disbelief doesn't mean throw out all logic.

Spiderman is somehow lame as [frick] in the movies. I hope I see it turn around at some point.
