SPIDER-MAN 2: A Bloodthirsty Venom Is On The Loose In Fearsome New Character Poster For Video Game Sequel

The latest Spider-Man 2 character poster finally focuses on Venom, and something tells us both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will have the odds stacked against them when they battle this behemoth...

Venom looks set to be a huge part of Spider-Man 2, but with just over a month to go before the sequel arrives in stores, we still don't kniw who is beneath that all-too-familiar alien costume.

Speculation continues to run rampant that we may get to take control of Venom after Peter Parker succumbs to the symbiote's influence. However, we also know the villain later targets both him and Miles Morales, with Tony Todd lending his voice to the iconic character.

Some think it's Harry Osborn wearing the suit, while others are convinced we're about to meet this universe's version of Eddie Brock. Heck, there are even those who believe Kraven the Hunter will somehow end up in control of the alien (an undeniably deadly combination).

Time will tell, but in the meantime, everyone's favourite symbiote takes centre stage on a brand new Spider-Man 2 character poster (first shared on GameFragger.com).

Talking about casting Todd as Venom, Creative Director Bryan Intihar recently said, "I was so scared of who we were going to get to do the voice. We knew it would be so anticipated and people would have a lot of opinions on it. Tony embraces that completely in the performance."

We wanted to try something very different, and I don’t think you can get much more different from Doc Ock than you do Venom. It’s about power, it’s about strength, it’s about being slighted, it’s about Peter being involved much more in the creation of Venom. I think that’s what attracted us."

"For us, Venom is the host plus the symbiote," he adds. "You don’t get Venom without both of them being bonded together. What Tony represents is that bond. I think, if anything, casting Tony made us feel more confident in the visual design of the character."

Tom Hardy's Venom has proven to be pretty ferocious, but something tells us he'll have nothing on this clearly less comedic take on the iconic villain...

"Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure," reads the synopsis, "in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise."

"Swing, jump and utilise the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love."

Spider-Man 2 swings into stores on October 20.
