SPIDER-MAN PS4's Secret Villain Has Been Revealed And You Can See Them Here - MAJOR SPOILERS
It's been common knowledge for a while now that Spider-Man will feature a secret villain and that character has now been revealed thanks to some leaked images from an upcoming art book. Check it out...
We first learned that Spider-Man would feature a mysterious big bad when the E3 trailer was released and confirmed that the Sinister Six had a leader whose identity has yet to be revealed. Since then, there's been a lot of speculation about who that might be with names like Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and even Venom put forward by fans. Well, their identity has finally been revealed today.
That comes courtesy of the art book for the game which some fans have been able to get their hands on early. We don't have hi-res scans but the photographs taken still show us everything we need to see and I definitely think you'll be surprised by this reveal. It goes without saying that this is a major spoiler for the game, of course, so to check it out, all you need to do is click on the "View List" button below.
Apparently, this suit will be unlocked near the end of the game and it will be what Spider-Man wears to take on the mysterious leader of the Sinister Six. If you know your comic books, you'll no doubt have a pretty good idea of the costume this is based on and why the wall-crawler designed it. That's right, it's Doctor Octopus! As you can see, he's undergone something of a redesign and those arms of his look particularly formidable, especially the bottom two which the villain clearly uses to get around. His origin story hasn't been revealed as of yet and we have no idea why he challenges Spidey.
Doc Ock looks really cool here and it's interesting that the "claws" on the end of his tentacles appear to be glowing with different colours (they were white as opposed to yellow in the slide above this one). The game has done a great job with making Otto Octavius look like a mostly harmless scientist too.
It's been confirmed that Doctor Octopus will be the game's final boss battle and here we get an idea of what that might look like. Needless to say, it should be a lot of fun taking on the villain in the game.
Here, we see Otto Octavius, a character who may actually be someone Peter Parker works for if the prequel novel is any indication. That could point to him becoming Doctor Octopus during the course of this game and it's hard not to wonder if it's Spider-Man's fault because of an accident of some sort.
