Here is my transcribed version of some of the main point that were covered in the interview. Be sure to watch it to hear Stan Lee's thoughts on the Spider-Man musical and Megamind!

Do you have a cameo in Megamind?

No, in fact I gave them a piece of my mind about that. I said, 'How do you expect this to be a hit when the only reason people went to see Iron Man was because they heard I was in it?' but I think they're having serious thoughts about the sequel now!

Have you been over to England for a cameo in Captain America yet?

No, I hope they shoot a few scenes here as I don't have time to go to England as much as I'd love to, but I think they'll shoot something here I can be in.

What do you think about Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man?

I don't know. I don't know. It's a radical departure and I hope it does well. I remember when they said they were going to hire Tobey Maguire to play Spider-Man and everbody thought that was the worst idea in the world but it turned out great. I'm hoping this will be the same thing. A lot of fans are against it, I hope it will turn out great.

What do you think about Spider-Man being filmed in 3D?

3D doesnt excite me as it does other people. I love the story. Whether I'm seeing it in 2D or 3D, it doesnt matter to me.

Yep it will tank... Then Marvel will pick up the rights and do something good with it.

Lets hope it tanks!

I get the impression Stan sees the new Spidey direction as though someone's molesting one of his children. It's a shame he's been supportive of all the Fox debacles over the years and only now start airing his doubts.

Growler: You are absolutely right. It sounds like his child just brought home a new boy or girlfriend that he knows is trouble but all you can do is sit and watch.

I don't know. I don't know. It's a radical departure and I hope it does well

I like 3D. Not everybody's cup of tea but I like to pay the extra to get the 3D bit. Just personal preference I suppose.

STAN @ As long as WEBB don't go ULTIMATE it'll be pretty cool, hopefully!

WORRY about X-MEN: FIST A$$ from FOX! : D

Stan's magic being destroyed and twisted there!

P.S. 3D sucks for CBM's bar of course GREEN LANTERN where its kinda cool!

Eleven59 @ Yep - it is such a gimmick. Plus it never looks 'real' so how can it be immersive? Even in Avater it was kind of like 'Look at the 3D!'

If I want 3D I'll go to the theatre.

LEE: I agree 110%. :) I was one of the people who was against Andrew Garfield when he was announced but recent interviews prove that he's an amazing choice. (as does the praise he's getting for The Social Network) We also have a pretty damn good choice for Gwen...Marc Webb is still the one I'm most concerned about as well though - I've heard nothing from him that gives me any faith that he's the right guy, unlike Zack Snyder who managed to convince me he was perfect for Superman in his first interview after getting the job!

That was the most "real" ive ever heard Stan be. Its a little weird not to hear him all enthusiastic about a marvel movie but comforting at the same time.

I'm a 3d fan but not for everything... GL needs it like avatar did, but thor? BATMAN? no way. things like spidey are maybes—i usually would say 3d is wrong for "real life" environments, but it would sure enhance the sense of vertigo we'd feel as he takes those early swings through the concrete canyons...

The New 3D technology is a vast improvement over the old (I couldn't see the 3D with that 99% of the time!) But is still too gimmicky I think. First off the need for the glasses is a pain, but at least somewhat less so that the old red/blue ones. If they could do away with them entirely (it has been hinted that this might be doable for TV if not the theatre) then great.
The real issue, and one I see hinted at here a few times, is not so much a problem with the use of 3D itself, but the tendency of film makers to cater too much for getting that "cool 3D shot" at the expense of the story and plot (Noted that a couple of times in Despicable Me - laughable because the best 3D effects aren't the big "coming out of the screen to get you" ones, not really.)
Some films could do well by it, just so long as the directors etc. don't think about 3D at all while producing the films. Most however aren't worth the extra expense I think.

Normally these interview's with Stan Lee aren't actually that interesting. I just like to see Stan Lee normally but this time I enjoyed the Questions you asked him. Also this time he wasn't completly positive on everything and I felt like I was ACUTALLY hearing the man who created this character's opinion.
@Orehrepus: LOL
