See How Much Better Green Goblin Could've Looked In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Weta and Sony Imageworks have each released a video detailing the digital effects that they created for the villains, Green Goblin and Electro, in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Dane looks a lot more green on here than in the movie. He actually doesn't look half bad on here.

This is actually miles better than what we saw in the movie. Gobby Boy was handled so terribly. I don't know why they wanted to do all this in a single movie on top of all the other subplots:
1. Introduce Harry
2. Establish that he knows Peter
3. Have them be all buddy-buddy with each other.
4. Have Harry learn that he is dying
5. Harry needs to do take ownership of OsCorp
6. Harry loses OsCorp
7. Harry gets mad at Peter.
8. Harry gets mad at Spider-Man.
9. Harry turns into Gobby Boy.
10. Gobby Boy fights Spider-Man.
11. Spider-Man beats Gobby Boy.
12. Harry is being cured.

I would've never thought about some of these things until they mentioned it. I wonder what inspirations they'll look at for some of the new sinister six members?

The only difference that stands out to me is his hair.

OMG....this should have been soooooooooooo easy to get green goblin right. Both times they tried to do something that did not need to be done. I am usually positive but come on man, I have seen better goblin masks at Halloween.

There not subplots mate, that's the storyline.

It's a shame they didn't go with this for the movie, might have made it more compelling.

That's pretty cool. I think that's how he will look in the next film as his muatation becomes more aggressive/severe.

Hate it. The Goblin had so much potential. Dane did a good job. The design was just bad.

Abary

Well you would count that as a single sub plot. Not a new one every time they are on screen.

I don't like that his hair is basically unaffected. I hope that he will wear some sort of a purple cloak in Sinister Six. Even if it's just for one scene.

This is so similiar to the movie it's ridiculous. I've never read so many picky reviews! The movie wasn't perfect....GET OVER IT!!!

The movie definitely had too many subplots going on but it was still a solid film. Could have been great, though. 7.5/10. For all the bs in the film, the important moments were awesome (Aunt May/Peter moment, Harry/Peters first meeting and Gwen's last scene).

still think Raimi's original Green Goblin design was the best someone should post a pic of it

You know what would've been cool? If Harry's hair had fallen out when he turned green (to go for that diseased effect) and he also turned green like he is in that video and then he wore a dark purple hood or helmet. What a novel idea. [foo foo]s.
