This Comic Book Strip Review Of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Sums The Movie Up Perfectly

Movies.com writer John Gholson has taken a unique approach to reviewing The Amazing Spider-Man 2, presenting his thoughts on the movie in the form of a comic strip. "It feels like someone's dopey idea of what comic books are, without actually reading them," sums it up pretty well...

As negative reviews for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 keep rolling in (watching its Rotten Tomatoes score drop is akin to, say, an avalanche), this summarisiation of the sequel courtesy of Movies.com is perhaps one of the best yet in terms of summing up the many problems that plague the movie. Of course, you'll be able to make your own minds up on that when it opens on May 2nd. Have you seen The Amazing Spider-Man 2 yet? If not, be warned, as there are some plot spoilers below...

Say that there are SPOILERS in your title. I was smart enough not to read but I fear others may not be.

This comic is pretty much spot on if not a little harsh lol... I liked the film better than Webb's first try, but it still failed to meet/surpass Raimi's best. Giamatti actually pissed me off as Rhino though, had a feeling he would hamm it up, but he was absolute shit, literally didn't understand a word he said, and he comes off more annoying than anything else.

Josh continues to make news about his own opinion. Remember when he was trying hard to report every time when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a flop of tv numbers? Now that AOS is good and not a flop of tv number, Josh has not make any of this articles anymore.

I wonder why...

Oh yes, it's against his own opinion.

And to think there are dummies who say this movie > CATWS.

Actually Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ratings are still pretty much the same. Somewhere between "Meh" and "Ok", hence why that no longer became an interesting topic to write about. :)

ASM2 was better than CA Winter Soldier though. So, of course it doesn't get the pass. It has too much working against it, from Raimi purists to Marvel Studio fan boy clowns wanting it to fail. In all honesty, it's the best characterization of Spider-Man, Garfield is the best actor to play a superhero in a Marvel movie next to RDJ. His on screen chemistry with Stone is electric. The humor hits, the web slinging through the city takes a steaming dump on Raimi's cartoony, cheese fest vision.

I agree that it's the best characterization of Spidey and it's a good movie but it's nowhere near Cap 2 level. That is heresy! Also GTFO with that Raimi/Marvel Studios fanboys nonsense.

I can see a tie of shittiness.

Stop looking for the negative and just enjoy the ride. It looks like a fun, adventurous, colorful film. Spidey is unicameral, kids will love it and regualr movie goers will too. The studio, Webb and them could give two shits about what fanboys think. Everyone who's bashing it will still see it thus putting money in all the actors, crew and studios pockets

Raimi version was a little cheesy too. Maguire cried on every damn film over MJ who treated him like shit.

I actually agree with the comic strip, though I can see some people who haven't seen the movie yet could be upset by it. It's not a bad movie, but it is not one that I would watch again. It probably will dominate the box office though.

Worst and most generic CBM villain since Lizard.

The characterization of Spidey seems right I'll give the film that. Best portrayal of Spidey. This franchise gets spidey right which is the most important factor
