Many thanks to Comic Book Resources for the following quote from Joe Quesada, as well as new concept art from the upcoming animated series. For more, be sure to head on over to the site by clicking on the link below.

"One thing I've been really excited and talking about consistently is our upcoming "Ultimate Spider-Man" animated show that's coming to Disney XD in 2012. What makes this Spider-Man cartoon really special and unique is that, while there have been many great Spidey shows in the past, it's the first Spidey cartoon made by Marvel. Marvel writers and artists worked directly on this show so it's going to have more Marvel DNA than any show that has come previously. Jeph Loeb has assembled a pretty amazing creative brain trust and writers room consisting of Paul Dini, Man of Action (Joe Kelly, Steve Seagle, Joe Casey and Duncan Rouleau), Spider-Man Editor Steve Wacker, me and even our very own Brian Bendis. On the art side, Jeph enlisted the help of guys like Ed McGuinness, Stuart Immonen, Humberto Ramos and Paolo Rivera. Heck, even I did some character sketches for the show. The idea being that even though animation style is much simpler than the stuff we generally do in comics, let's get Marvel artists to do some character design work in their respective styles as inspiration and tonal flavor for the animators. I think you're going to see much more of this approach as we move forward."

Wrong, it was that Super Hero Squad Show that was the last Marvel show to air on Cartoon Network.

Spiderman - 7 heads high, pretty perfect - not the 7.5 heads high like other heroes. His look is great, I like that he's not a twig. He has the perfect amount of muscles and is still lean.

Venom looked weird to me too, but that's just because they drew him really fluid since the symbiote has always seemed like a thick liquid so I understand that - check.

MJ, looks good - check!

Peter Parker looks disgusting! His face looks really fat and just ugly! He kinda looks like Jay Leno, not good! And MJ looks older than him! Fix that Marvel Animation Studios! 'Til then, no check!

Other than Peter's look, everything looks pretty good so far.

I love the artwork, I hear its gonna have Spidey teaming up with different heroes, kinda like Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

@JackDexx: That's the first thing I thought too - everything has a real '90s vibe to it. Peter is rockin the "Will Friedle/Boy Meets World" look...

EasternBunnyKiller, Miles Morales is your favorite comic book character too?!

Every night before I go to bed I masturbate, thinking of the awesomeness Miles Morales is. Only then can I find peace.

I can't believe there were those poo-pooing the Supes suit but nearly everyone likes the Venom drawing. I realize I am comparing live-action with animation. I love Marvel but I wish they would get away from this trend of making there bigger characters with tiny legs. They end up looking like the guys that annoy me in the weight room who only curl and bench press. I liked the Hulk versus movies but Hulk's legs were unforgivably small. They do this with a lot of there animated characters now. Marvel we want super heroes, not Johnny Bravo! It's like the legs are just an afterthought for them
