"Sony want[s] a dark-haired Caucasian boy to play actor Peter Parker at age 4 to 6 years old. Applicants need be between 8 and 11 years old."

In the comics (via Comicvine), Billy Connors a young boy,is the son of Martha & Curt Connors. He once had cancer but is now a survivor. Billy alongside his mother must suffer the consequences of his father's errors. Billy is put into a foster home after he is cured and retains no love for his father. When Curt becomes the Lizard in "SHED", the Lizard wants to punish Connors and kills Billy who says just before he dies that he always new his dad would kill him.

Anyhow, starring Andrew Garfield as Parker in High school, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and of course Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors himself, Spider-Man 3D swings into theaters July 3, 2012. I'm guessing they're going to touch on Peter's parents. They rarely do that outside of the comics.

I always thought it was odd how even though he had a good 5 or 6 years with his parents(some stories say he was much younger), they hold practically no significance in his life or the comics.

Compare that the Clark, who lost his parents before he was even aware of them, yet they are very significant in his life as well as in the comics.

Same goes for Bruce. He wasn't much older than Peter, but the entire Batman mythos is based around them.

That's pretty interesting but they wont be able to reveal how Red Skull killed him for obvious legal reasons.

hmm... "he once had cancer but is now a survivor"... This sounds like it could be a set up for Venom if they go by the Ultimate formula. Cancer being the reason for Venom's creation. That would make Conners excited to study it for Spidey. Still too early to tell though.

this sounds like it could be wicked.

@ guason

cheers for showing the comic pages, that scene would be f*cking awesome in the film.

the portrayal of the lizard - they could have scenes that so tense like ridley scotts alien.

Poor Billy, lol...that was one of the most shocking moments in Amazing Spider-Man I've ever read! It might be interesting to see Peter as a child though, especially if they show his parents. Perhaps they'll twist things around so that they and Connors knew each other!? I'm starting to get really psyched for this movie though and cannot wait to see Spider-Man back on the big screen! :)

@ otherside

unnecessary,that would awesome.

its no different to the t-rex or raptor scenes in jurassic park.

i haven't got kids so i couldn't careless if they can see it or not.

but how many kids have seen & will see a lot worse in the privacy of their own home, how many kids do ya think have seen kick ass, watchmen, sin city & 300.

Who the heck is Marc Webb? The only movie he has listed to his credit is '500 days of summer' and I've never seen it.

@ televizion

i know that sounds bad,but who gives a shit how scary it could be for the kids as long as spidey wins at the end of the film & good conquers over evil.

they make a deadpool movie & its r-rated,how many kids are fans of deadpool but wouldn't be old enough to see it.

lifes full of dissapoinments, there was loads of films i wanted to see but couldn't because i wasn't old enough.

God this might be a one dramatic movie if Dr. Connors dies in the end. Still i think this needs another villain, who can bring some real evilness in it. Kraven would be cool! Or Electro! Norman Osborn should be a just a side character in this first film.

Rhys Ifans should play Electro and Billy Crudup, Dr. Connors.
Gerry Butler or Mads Mikkelsen as Kraven, Bryan Cranston as Norman Osborn and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Harry Osborn.
