Suicide Squad may have felt the wrath of critics, but that didn't stop the movie from scoring a massive $65.1 million on Friday in North America. As a result, projections for its opening weekend have now increased to the $145 million - $150 million range, the biggest August opening in history by a long mile. Overseas, the movie is also doing pretty well as it has so far grossed $64.6 million in three days.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was given a "B" CinemaScore by audiences back in March, but Suicide Squad has been awarded a "B+". Whether or not that's a sign it won't suffer from such a steep plummet by this time next week remains to be seen, especially as fans so far seem to be fairly divided.

Suicide Squad surprisingly managed to bring in a lot of female viewers as they made up a whopping 54% of Friday's audience. That's odd for any superhero movie, but chances are that Margot Robbie is to thank for that. Younger viewers also flocked to it, and both they and those female viewers ended up giving it a much higher CinemaScore of A and A- respectively. As of right now, Suicide Squad has shot past Guardians of the Galaxy and will open bigger than Deadpool, so Warner Bros. must be happy.
